Stayed here a few months ago, in the quiet season, and really enjoyed ourselves. Then, We had a ground floor studio spa room and it was lovely.
This time we decided to upgrade and booked the deluxe spa studio. It was upstairs (no lift), when we entered the room it was hot and had a dank wet mold like smell to it. We turned on the aircon and put some essential oils on a tissue to make the smell go away. There was a wet spot under the office desk, not sure what it was and the bathroom sink had a large crack in it.
The place had a variety of signs around the room and bathroom, a lot of them warning if u did something wronge you would fined heavily (not very welcoming at all.) Maybe its under new management , its not as welcoming as it once was.
We went to the restaurant and our booking had been misplaced (this also happened to the next group as well) and the service was average. Not sure if the staff are all just exhausted from the Xmas rush. We loved the service last time we were here. Food was alright. Highly recommend the prawns, it was excellent.
The area has Great views and is very peaceful.
The hotel could do with some maintenance. It would also have been nice to walk into a cool room (aircon already on) that smelt fresh, light and clean.
