Travelodge St Austell

Great place to stay. Comfy rooms, and complimentary breakfast was lovely!

The room was far from up to standards of st Austell Travelodge which we have stayed several times before the room was clean not an issue but the bed was hard and uncomfortable the room was like a furnace even with window open the pillows were uncomfortable on top of that no hair dryer to dry hair and being disabled the shower was over a bath with no bath mat making it slippery no shower gel in bathroom it was that bad we were awake by 6am and checked out by 7.20 making our family visit cut short

Hairs on and in the bed, hair in the sink and bath, very bad smell of damp/mould in the bathroom. I was moved to a different room after I raised the issues, but in this new room I then found beer cans in the bin as it hadnt been emptied, bits of paper and small pebbles on the floor showed it hadnt been vacuumed and .......there were yet more hairs. Staff were absolutely great though and Andy the night reception host in particular was extremely professional, helpful and apologetic for the issues as well as being quick to attempt to resolve them. Unfortunately after finding more issues with the second room, I had to check out as it was clear there were issues that weren't just a one off. Shame as its in a central location which is why I had booked there in the first place.

Really good base to explore St Austell and Charlestown and other local areas / sites like the Eden project, Gardens of Heligan, Megavissey and Fowey. Family room and food were good and all the staff were very helpful and friendly! Busy area outside travelodge with a few shops, McDonald’s and KFC, so there was a bit of road noise.

Myself and my partner love coming to Cornwall! It is our happy place! The staff here are wonderful & attentive. Especially Sammy, she was very talkative while we were waiting in reception. I didn’t catch his name but tall man with long hair was very polite and chatty on the bar.

Spent 5 nights, miserable weather (I know Cornwall at Easter!) but all staff were happy and helpful. Special mentions to Gillian and Sammie. Not only did they meet us with a smile, but we saw them sorting other people's problems efficiently. Thank you!

Stayed 3 nites here and can’t speak highly enough of the hotel & the staff. The hotel is so clean everywhere & has got everything you need. Rooms big & really comfortable, plus one of the best showers I’ve ever had. The bar & restaurant areas are great with a superb choice of drinks and food, we ate and drank here every day. But the thing that stands out are the staff, they can’t do enough for everyone who stays & they make everyone feel like home from home! Special mention for Ethan, Gavin & Sammy who were absolutely brilliant!! Keep up the great work everyone and see you soon.

I am going ro be honest, the staff were dynamic and helpful, also a laugh with good honest people! Buildings are like cars always need fixing. The girls sorted it in minutes and diligently whilst dealing with customers, handled perfectly I couldn't do better. I'm quite picky with my room but alas their was no hairs anywhere the room was spotless bed was fresh and clean, bathroom I could not fault it, functional and not even a streak on the mirrors! I want to visit the area just to go back their again! Not to forget the location is perfect right next to KFC!

Cigarette burns, dirty carpet, slippery bath. Breakfast was not great. Staff were friendly & welcoming though and keep the hotel clean despite it being run down. Our room was hot so turned the radiator down but it automatically went back to original settings. Left the window open but then had the traffic noise from McDonald’s, KFC etc
