Pros
1. 1st impression of the hotel from an exterior view of the building was a bit rundown due to the paint on the wall looks like they never paint for many years...but here is the catch. Once you enter the lobby, you are transported into a new different era. The lobby area looks welcoming and there are sofa seats for travellers to sit. It was quiet and not many travellers when I check in at 6pm. I got the room keys within 10 mins of arrival.
2. Once I entered the assigned hotel room, i immediately look out of the window and to my surprise, the AEON Bukit Indah was just a stone throw away. I don't need to drive there but instead I can reach there within a 5 mins walk. I think having a shopping mall just across the street is a good pulling factor. Not only that but there is a fast-food outlet like McDonald and Burger King within a walking distance as well.
3. Let's talk about the interior of the room. As soon as I entered the room, the interior space which I have chosen (Deluxe Queen Room) are within my expectation. Not so big and neither small. There is a space for our luggage and a sitting console to do your make up. There is a mini fridge and 2 coffee cups with coffee and tea bags as well as 2 bottles of mineral water. Not much of an issue. Toilet cleanliness and toiletries are there. There was a dispensing body shower and shampoo press that was installed and located beside the shower tap which I find it to be useful and convenient.
4. Air con wise, cold enough to cool the room within an hour. Adjustable thermostat from 17 to 27 Deg C. I even slept with the aircon on at 26 Deg C throughout the night. You still feel that little bit of coldness but not too cold to freeze you.
5. There is a lot of channels such as TV1, TV2 and TV3. Also got CNA and TV5. So basically i got want I want to watch during the night. Only that if the TV screen would be bigger, it would be better. I think the size is about 29”. Viewing from the bed look small. A decent 55” tv screen would helps.
6. I love the mattress. Very firm and sturdy but the pillow, emm...we were provided with only 2.
7. Its a free parking. No need any coupon to enter or exit. Just Park and leave it there. 1 thing to note is that the parking lots are limited.
8. There are lots of choices for the breakfast. Catering to Asian types of dishes. There are prata, nasi lemak, half boiled egg, fried rice and mini pow. Don't expect extravaganza dishes but I am happy with the choices that they have. Do take note to come down early at 7.30am to get seats because by 8.30am, it would be very crowded already. The breakfast is served from 6.30am until 10am.
Cons.
1. There was no iron and iron board, but we manage to get the housekeeping to send both the items into our room.
2. The toilet shower and bidet pressure are not strong that you knew you just need that extra push to feel a comfortable pressure during your shower or cleaning your stuff right after your ”unload”. Tap water pressure from the sink is good.
3. We are able to connect our mobile data to the hotel's Wi-Fi successfully but somehow the bandwidth is not so fast as I want it. A bit lagging at times and when you are so used to the speed in SG, you will get a bit annoyed by the slow speed. So sometimes, I switch back to my data plan (M1 My Passport) to connect to the internet.
4. The pillows doesn't seem to be the right cushion that we want. Because we used to sleep at home using a spongy pillow that will bounce back when you slap on it, the hotel ones do not seem to have that. Once you punch on it, it stays there. So, when you sleep at one portion of the pillow, it sinks. So, you keep re-adjusting to get to that comfort level.
For a rating between 1 to 10 where 10 is the best score, I would probably rate it as 7.5/10. I will still come back to stay here but probably bring my home pillow instead.
And of course, it is near the highway leading back to Tuas if you need to come in via 2nd link.
2nd time staying as the location was good, as the first time had some small setback such as hairdryer not working so trying out here again.
surprised that the checkin was slow as i had entered on a day where there was a huge jam. ended up checking in super late with only 1 receptionist on duty.
during the 1st night the black hairdryer tripped the room electricity and the whole area had a blackout, had to make use of their back up hairdryer once again, but props to their recovery as their electrician came to fix it shortly in 30mins.
still affordable and good location, however wouldnt recommend anymore as they seemed to be lacking in service staff during peak hour and their in room amenities such as hairdryer had issues 2 times in a row.
The staff customer service needs to improve. Not very friendly. The room has a smell. Tv not link to YouTube. Only can watch the tv channel. A bit boring for our staycation. We extended our stay. But the counter keep calling and asked what time we want to check out. Money paid for extension! Why they need to call us like 3 to 5 times for confirmation? We opt for sea view. But I don’t see any sea from my windows.
I made a trip to Johor Bahru & visited the newest kid in the block! Eden by Wizards features really good pasta, bakes and mains with stunning glasshouse and soft contemporary vibes! The attention to details and aesthetics made the trip so worth it! Food prices were slightly above average but it’s definitely a trip worth going for! Had their beef pasta and the pasta was Al-Dente! Paired with juicy strings of beef strips and onsen egg, it was sooo good! Visit this latest cafe and follow for more 😉 #tripstars #thingstodo #2024wish #freehotelstay

#highlyrecommended Pahpai Steak House, it’s one my favourite western restaurant in JB town, had been visited several times while staycation in JB.😋👍🏻✨
Address - 38 & 40, Jalan Sutera 3, Taman Sentosa, 80150 JB, Malaysia.
The restaurant had applied the Popeye-the-Sailor-themed décor for their interior setting, and it’s cosy and family-friendly dining environment, with their excellent and attentive staff service to in-house guests.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We had ordered the Grilled Lamb Chop, Seafood Marinara, Roasted Chicken Caesar Salad, and the Grilled Chicken Chop for our lunch.😋😋👍🏻We had great dining experience @Pahpai Steak House.
