Small lodge located in a quiet forest away from the noise. Simple furnishings, always perfectly clean. The room was a little small but still welcoming, warm and clean. We had dinner twice around the large table with the traditional Japanese grill and both dinners were excellent. Particular credit goes to the two owners who, in addition to making you feel at home, are incredibly helpful in showing us around and explaining everything about the area. definitely recommended!

We loved our experience at Myoko Forest Lodge - we will definitely go back. The location was fantastic - in the forest within driving distance to 5 or 6 different ski areas and a short drive to town if you need. Cheyrenne and Brett and all the staff were fabulous hosts going out of their way with great food and excellent tips as to where to ski in what conditions and other things (like onsens, vintage shopping, snow monkeys, restaurants) to explore. We felt very looked after. We particularly liked the decor and the warm lodge type atmosphere - lots of places in Japan can be a little clinical. The lodge can transport you but we hired a car from the train station which we would recommend in this area as you can be independent and visit more widely and with google maps the driving was remarkably easy. It is a great base to explore. You won't be disappointed!
