The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing and most importantly it's a walking distance to several beautiful sights in the city.

Got a great deal on a room only basis so room was small but that's ok. Breakfast at £15.50 each was decent value as plenty of choice and catered for gluten free. Car parking at £15 per night was fine too. Hotel itself is starting to show its age but reception, main foyer and bar area were really nice. Staff all very friendly, so would stay again.

Beautiful old style Hotel, large rooms and an entrance from an elegant age, simply beautiful. Real class, only had the one night, but in Cardiff and I will stay again. Staff were friendly and helpful 🙂

Lovely old hotel with loads of character. Easy check in with really pleasant and efficient staff. Room was spotless and nice size. Lovely breakfast again with lovely friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely be back.

It’s a beautiful property in an excellent area of Cardiff. Really close to all Cardiff has to offer. The rooms are comfortable and clean and love loved the deep bath in the bathroom. The staff are excellent and friendly. The building itself is a bit tired and needs a bit of tlc. But it’s still has its own charm.

Loved the hotel slight issue with the room as it hadn't been cleaned properly but hotel staff promptly sorted the issue. Few dated features but ideal getaway for a weekend city break really enjoyed and all the staff especially Joey and Stacey were absolutely lovely

Beautiful period property. My sister and I had a twin room, which had enoigh space for us, just no plugs near the beds but not the end of the world.The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our beds were a bit soft and personally we found the room too hot (I know others said there's was cold so there's no way to please everyone!). As it's city centre there's a lot of outside noise from traffic and then nightlife (we stayed on a Thursday and there were drunks shouting at 2:30 AM) You are able to get earplugs from reception but I still found it pretty noisy. Really great location, easy to find

Wonderful location right across the street from the castle. Rather irritating that there was no electric outlet, extension cord or standard port (ie USB A) convenient to the beds.

The Angel is in a great location, lovely friendly staff and comfy and clean rooms. Plenty of hot water and everything you need. Lovely view of the castle from our room. Not as noisy as I had expected given the location on a busy road A generous breakfast. I was able to nab a parking spot in the hotel car park. The hotel is a bit faded but a bargain.

Lovely building beautiful decor rooms ok, clean, nice soft beds. Staff friendly and easy to approach from the bar and waiting staff, reception staff and cleaning staff. We only had the breakfast there but the food was lovely also depending where sitting there is a view by the window of the castle across the eoad The only faults were the distance from the plug socket and the bed ( my daughter uses her phone while it’s charging) take an extension lead if you require to use devices while charging and the tea making facility was disappointing, kettle tea bags etc. but the packets of milk were gone off and the cups weren’t changed. Also no fridge or chiller available. This was a stay in a deluxe twin room.

We have been visiting the Angel 2-3 times a year for over 20 years, but this was our first time as residents. The property is dated, and is clearly trading on its past reputation. Bar and restaurant staff were unprepared for visitors and were unhelpful and slow. They also had no regard for residents post match. Thankfully the reception and cleaning staff were excellent - friendly, polite and helpful.

Brilliant location and very comfortable hotel. All the staff were highly efficient and friendly.
