Most of the outlets don’t work, bad quality shampoo, old tv, bad room decoration, jacuzzi don’t work… The only good thing here is the view, i wish i didn’t come to this hotel and i hope for the ppl reading my review don’t make the same mistake.
When you go somewhere that you really enjoy, you don’t count how many times that you have been there. This was at least my third visit to this hotel, maybe my fourth. But it was my longest stay (2 weeks, during Christmas and New Years). I recently was cleared for International travel after having a very complicated hip replacement. Post Covid, post surgery, I needed to go somewhere that I knew that I would enjoy. The Marina Bay did not disappoint. To start, the weather was perfect for winter weather. Sun daily, the panoramic view of shades of blue (my favorite color) was awesome. Since I retired in September 2023,this was one of few times that I could get away and try to answer the question: If I died yesterday, what would I regret that I did not have a chance to do. The answer is still a work in progress, but Tangier was a perfect place to think about the question. Much of the staff was the same incredible crew that I experienced from my previous visits. Mr. Berrada has added a few more superstars. Aya, in charge of guest services started my positive experiences when she messaged me, “We will be happy to welcome you.” I thought that was just normal professional courtesy. But when she said, “I’ll make sure that you have a pleasant stay”, after Covid, surgery, and an ever worsening global situation, I needed to feel like I was going to enjoy myself. One day I had the chance to visit with Mr. Amine Berrada and during a phenomenal 90 minutes plus, he talked about his vision for the hotel and the quest experience that he is shooting for. Before we finished Aya came in and we all talked for at least another half hour. Before I forget to mention something really special, my plan for the holidays was to get away and think. I made no Christmas or New Year’s plans. The first, second and third time that Aya mentioned the New Year’s Celebration that they planned, I thought that I would rather stay alone in my room. Her brother was visiting from outside the country, and I had a few opportunities to talk with him. Finally, I decided to join the folks for the celebration. I would have missed a fantastic evening had I chose not to attend. The multi course meal, the entertainment (a soulful singer & flamenco dancers) provided for and incredible night to remember. Separate subject: The only breakfast that I remember being better was the Atlas Vichy Celestins, in Bouznika. Their weekend spread is truly a must experience. But the daily offering, the love from the staff, etc make the daily breakfast at Marina Bay one of, if not the best hotel breakfast meals that I have ever experienced. Bottom line, my holiday experience at Marina Bay was so enjoyable, that I might finish 2024 the same way.
I was welcomed very friendly by Hotelmanager Omar el B. I got this beautiful room with panoramic view of Tangiers and at the other side the swimming Pool. He goes far for his guests and speaks fluent Arabic, French and English. The hotel is tot a Golden Tulip hotel anymore but the service is still great. As an example I needed a top-up prepaid card for my mobile internet services and the crew went out and bought it for me. Every time I come back from outside the doormen welcomes me and the manager is always waving at me. It’s the second time I stayed here with the same experience and in August I will come back again to this beautiful hotel with great staff, spa and swimming pool were you can chill in peace without the noice from a busy city.
Had 2 rooms for the hotel. Average room, rather old. Renovations are in progress thus maybe caused the lack of service, had to wait rather long while checking in and in comparison with other moroccan hotels, no welcome drinks or familiarisation was given. There was no rooftop access for any aerial view despite strategically located next to the wonderful beach and nearby all the main attractions of the city. Staffs were friendly though, facilities and maintenance fell short for that last star.

I love the tranquillity of Jardin Majorelle and have visited many times over the years.
However, although the garden itself has never disappointed, l've always felt troubled by the amount of graffiti, often declarations of love, that vandals had carved on to the bamboo trees and wondered why staff had not been sufficiently vigilant to prevent this from happening. Anyway, visiting recently, I found that various changes had been implemented, including staff being far more visible than in the past and an obligatory online booking system being in place (you can no longer pay on arrival). However, the one change that gave me the most joy was finding that all the graffiti had been removed from the bamboo trees. I guess that the presence of more staff, who were strategically placed along a prescribed route that visitors were encouraged to follow, would prevent future vandalism.
These gardens are so serene and spending an hour here, especially when there's few people around, feels like being in paradise.
A lovely colorful and peaceful garden.
However, the highlight for us was the excellent Berber Museum that displayed costumes and incredible Berber jewelry. I only wish that there had been English descriptions of the history. The Saint Ives Museum was also interesting, especially the video. The black dresses on the black models were difficult to see with the dim lighting.
