ゲゲストWe recently went on a family trip and stayed for two nights, making two separate bookings. On the last night, the receptionist informed us that our room was not included for children. However, the website clearly stated that children under 12 stay for free. I didn't want to argue in front of the kids, but despite the receptionist's smile, we didn’t feel welcomed at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
ゲゲストUnfortunately our room smelt of damp/wet dog so went to reception to inform them and asked for an air freshener, the gentleman at reception went and spoke with someone else and then took me to see 2 other rooms, these rooms both had the same smell so we stuck with the room we were currently in as we had our 4 year old with us. The gentleman from reception came back with some air freshener spray which I was allowed to use and then he took it away again.
We have stayed here a few times before and never noticed the smell. The carpet was filthy/old as well which was probably where the smell was coming from.
The breakfast was okay, 1 pancake machine which took ages to make pancakes which our 4 year old wanted but because it was popular there was always a queue, could be doing with another couple of them?
I don't think we will stay here again, which is unfortunate as it's where we usually stay as it's easy to get to and not right in the middle of the city and has ample parking.
BBarkylsha1Although the room was a little dated, all the amenities were good. The shower could do with being updated as was quite old with little water pressure. Went to the bar and they had a good selection of drinks and food. Breakfast in the morning was also enjoyable. Staff were happy to help and kindly ordered us a taxi for the evening.
Only gripe would be the parking situation, which frankly was disappointing. Many guests like myself arrived mid afternoon to a full car park with no spaces. Turned out this was because the hotel rents out spaces to offshore workers/holidaymakers. Fair enough as a side hustle, but at least keep a reasonable amount for your guests.
ゲゲストThe address advertised is incorrect. I walked to the address on Union Street and had to Google search the actual location. The accommodation was actually in an alley on Rose Street at the opposite end of Union Street. When phoning the property, it was a London number, not Aberdeen. I had to find the property down an unmarked alley and a mobile number was on the door. Fortunately, the maid was pleasant and helpful.
