Hotel Travancore Regency

Travancore Restaurant in Mavelikara is a disappointment, with slow service and subpar food quality. It took over 30 minutes to receive our order of 3 regular vegetarian meals, which should have been readily available. A Nepali staff member repeatedly ignored our requests to clean the dirty table, only responding after being asked multiple times. The mutton biryani was undercooked and difficult to chew, yet the restaurant charged an unreasonable price of ₹360 We also waited an excessive amount of time for a 2-scoop ice cream order, which should have been served promptly. Overall, Travancore Restaurant offers a poor dining experience and is not recommended.

Came to dine with family at a pretty quiet period. It took around 40 minutes for the food to arrive after the order was taking which was disappointing. We had also ordered lime juice and lassie which didn't arrive and when we asked they said they don't have it. Similarly we asked for vanilla ice cream, they said they only have butterscotch and pista, we said butterscotch. We were then bought pista as that's now all they had. Whilst I understand these things happen, it would be nice to be informed rather then us chasing repeatedly. Servers were kind, however please note that a few of them did not speak malayalam and hence the language barrier had affected the service. The food is lovely but it is a shame the service is yet to make the mark.

Excellent location. Restaurant with reasonable rates. Infrastructure a bit old and not maintained properly.

Only 2 deluxe rooms available. I was provided Room #101 that has windows locked from outside. No possibility to get fresh air. This room's bathroom was fungus infested and very smelly(puke smell). When I informed the Reception, they offered to give me an Executive Room as the 2nd Deluxe room was occupied (as per the receptionist). I brought a toilet cleaner and a bathroom fragrance/deodorizer to survive the stay(2days).With previous experiences, a plan to maintain the cleanliness of the bathrooms is need of the hour. Also the price of the room should be made around 2000 rupees(excluding tax) considering the facilities provided. No efforts taken to upgrade the ageing bathroom
