オテル アレナ ル ルフュージュ(Hotel Arena Restaurant le Refuge)

We booked 3 rooms at the Hotel Arena le Refuge in Corte. As the location is out of town it was essential for us to have a restaurant. Before we traveled we were told that we were all ‘upgraded’ to the sister hotel, Les Jardins de la Glacière nearby. When we arrived we had a hostile reception which got worse when we asked where we could eat. The room had a toilet that wouldn’t flush and a shower knob that came off in your hand. This hotel had no restaurant and the restaurant in Le Refuge was closed. We asked if we could get a taxi the 2km into Corte and were told that no taxi would go such a short distance. We enquired about a take away but were firmly told that we would have to eat it in the room. We then asked about the restaurant close by in another hotel. This was clearly the competition so wasn’t mentioned to us. We asked if they could be called to see if they were open and this was done very grudgingly. At check out we mentioned the problems in the room which was greeted with a very sarcastic, disbelieving ‘Oh really’. This appalling establishment seems to be run by only 2 people who we believe are the owners of both these hotels. Clearly, neither of them has had any hospitality training. Having travelled all over the world we have never met such rude, condescending and sarcastic staff in an hotel or stayed in such a terrible place. If this was an upgrade from the Hotel Arena le Refuge we hate to think what that must be like. We strongly recommend that you DO NOT BOOK AT THESE HOTELS.

This is not a luxury hotel, BUT if your interest is a calm "refuge" this is the place for you. It is located along the Restonica River. Grab a seat along the bank and take in the peace. The walls are a little thin. You can hear the people in the room next door taking a shower, but don't let that stop you from staying there. They have a wonderful restaurant onsite and the staff is super friendly. The rooms are nice and clean, we had a little kitchenette in our room. If you plan to go to Lake Melo, be sure to ask about the shuttle service from the hotel. It cost 15 Euros per person, round trip. Oh and the shuttle only takes cash. No credit cards. trust me here, it's worth the effort to let someone else drive you back and forth from the trail head. The shuttle picks you up at the hotel at 8:10AM and comes back to pick you at the trail head parking lot at 3:00PM. The driver is very prompt. Don't be late.

Repas du midi, menu à 41€ (entré, plat et dessert) avec 2 verres de vin, très bon rapport qualité/prix, très bon accueil, service parfait et un cadre fabuleux le long de la rivière. Les portions sont généreuses . Très bonne découverte dans la zone de Corté.

Ravissant lieu de repos sur une jolie rivière. Magnifique terrasse, très bon restaurant avec un service au top, jolie chambre au calme avec mignonne terrasse. Parking aisé. Petit déjeuner parfait. Seul bémol: un lit en 140 qui a vécu, du coup pas facile de ne pas glisser dans le milieu du lit et de se cogner dans son mari. Nuit du coup plutôt difficile.

Un endroit surprenant au bord de la rivière, où l'ont peut se baigner. Une chambre spacieuse et un grand lit confortable et des coussins moelleux. Une restauration copieuse et bonne. Un service impeccable.

Très bien situé en bordure de la rivière qui chante!. Chambre très correcte, de l'espace , des rangements. Bon accueil, sans plus. Restaurant agréable, avec plats de qualité. Parking juste à coté de l'hôtel restaurant.

Ottimo hotel sia dal punto di vista alloggiativo che per quanto riguarda la cucina che in Corsica per noi italiani non è il top. Personale gentilissimo e disponibile ad ogni nostra richiesta. Peccato per il brutto tempo (pioggia) che non ci ha permesso di gustarci il posto spettacolare sicuro rifugio per riposarsi sulle rive del fiume

Nous avons bénéficié d'une belle chambre un peu à l'écart avec une jolie terrasse. Les vasques de la Restonica comme piscine privée, que demander de plus. Le personnel est adorable, Nous avons dormi bercé par cette jolie rivière. Le diner était parfait. Seul petit bémol (d'où seulement 4 *). Lors de notre arrivée, on nous avait promis une petite table pour le soir, au bord de la rivière. Lorsque nous nous sommes présentés pour dîner, une autre table nous a été proposée, sans la vue promise. Mais cela reste tout de même un bel endroit à découvrir

Hôtel situé juste au bord de la rivière avec accès direct depuis la terrasse. Le site est magnifique. Chambre grande et confortable avec un mini frigo, très pratique. Petite terrasse juste devant. Coins apéro ombragé très agreable. Personnel accueillant et serviable. Nous avons passé 2 nuits en demi pension. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Le repas du soir de la demi pension était meilleur le deuxième soir.
