This is a hotel that I’m afraid has seen better days and is too busy to enjoy in peak holidays. You might call it a classic tyrolean hotel but I think it is in need of an upgrade and refurb, and to limit the amount of bookings in peak times so that guests can enjoy the facilities. Our room was spacious enough but was seemingly last refurbished in 1976. Pillows very cheap, duvets thin. The plug didn’t work in the sink and one room was missing a light when we checked in. The food was a bit hit and miss, sometimes excellent but other times stodgy and heavy. I understand that they are catering for 100s of people at a time though so fair enough. The salad bar is excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and we were welcomed nicely. But then just a few things that pained me: cake is provided for ski return at 3pm but you have to buy your accompanying drink of hot chocolate. Tap water is provided for dinner but you have to pay 2.50 euros for it?! By the time the sauna opened at 4pm the entire family spa and pool area downstairs was overrun with kids and the pool totally full of young boys jumping in, no lifeguard or anyone to say just calm down and let others swim. You just couldn’t enjoy it. The bus to the gondola is ok but there are only 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon, miss them and it’s a 5-10 min walk from the böglerhof stop with all your kit. It is packed in the am and you have to fight for a seat (literally!) The boot room is a total frenzy in the morning with dozens of families all hitting the room at the same time and no room for you to sit down and put one’s own boots on. Again it just feels like the hotel is too busy for its own facilities. On a similar note, the car park was overfull on a few occasions and we were scrambling to get back from the slopes to find a spot to park, adding to the sense of panic and stress you just don’t need on a vacation.
