ホテル サンタ マリア デ アルケサル(Hotel Santa Maria de Alquezar)

The hotel is beautiful and peaceful and well maintained. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly - Anna (reception) Ugo and Nacho (Avalancha) were amazing. They made my trip so enjoyable with such terrific energy and willingness to make my stay and adventure with Avalancha (Canyoning) the best possible experience. The room was comfortable with a super bed and much needed AC. Thanks so much!

Friendly staff. Nice room and good facilities. The breakfast was very good. It was served in schedules. Due to my opinion: this is a great idea. Just enough time to eat and never had tot wait for a place tot sitdown. Whenever we go back to Alquezar, we would stay here again. In this beautiful village.

We stayed at the Hotel Santa Maria de Alquezar for 1-night in late May (€99). Although we are over half way through a 9-week road trip through Spain and have seen many cities and villages, none have been as beautiful and atmospheric as Alquezar – if it is not on your list, put it there. Simply stated, it is the epitome of a medieval village – great views of the gorge & castle, and you can wander ancient streets like few others. The hotel is at the entrance to the village – not the traffic circle with the blocked road that directs you to an absurdly distant parking lot. Drive past the barricade into the village where there is plenty of free parking just before the hotel (if not, spaces will clear when the day trippers leave). We had a double room with a small balcony with a view of the castle & valley. The room was a bit small, but nicely decorated & modern, with a white motif that enhanced the space. The bed was large, with a small table on one side, a chair with a small table on the other. There was a large closet, a tiny ceiling-mounted TV, but no safe or mini-refrigerator. The balcony was small, but enough room for the chair and a pillow seat to admire the spectacular castle view. The bathroom was reasonable in size, with a single sink and tiny vanity but a very nice shower. Breakfast was basic, with scrambled eggs, bacon, and a small assortment of cold cuts, bread and pastries. Overall, a comfortable hotel in an absolutely beautiful medieval mountain village at a great price. Why wouldn't you stay here?

Our room on the first floor faced the castle. The room was clean and comfortable but quite small for the luggage we had which included a medium sized suitcase. However as we were only there for two nights did not spend much time in our room. Reception staff spoke English and were very helpful. Guests are given the option of selecting breakfast times and one is expected to stick to it. Parking can be a problem especially at weekends. There is a lounge downstairs where one could relax.

We have stayed in this cosy nice hotel for 8 nights pros: -good location ( at the center of the village) -beautiful views from the balcony -the room was small to normal size -bathroom was spacious with all the necessary toiletries -very good breakfast (spanish oriented) -the personnel was really professional - speed wifi cons: -the size of the room (not a lot of space) -no small refrigerator in the room (this was an issue!) - clean issues ( not proper cleaning in some days) I would definitely stay to this hotel again!

I stayed at the Santa Maria for five days at the end of June and could happily have stayed longer as there is so much to do. At 700m altitude it was not too hot for walking in the Sierra, which is well mapped and signposted, and contains 60 prehistoric painting sites: or for road biking. The artistic and architectural marvels of Zaragoza are an hour and a half away by car. The room was comfortable with an outstanding view of Alquezar’s village and castle. The breakfasts were excellent, with plenty of fruit and cooked options, (even fresh milk with the cereal!). The staff were super friendly and helpful, for instance sorting out my laundry and forwarding an item that I had left behind.

Hôtel de qualité idéalement situé à l’entrée du beau village d’Alquezar. Le personnel est accueillant et sympathique. La Chambre était propre et spacieuse. Le seul regret est qu’elle donnait sur l’arrière et n’avait donc aucune vue ! A noter qu’il s’agissait d’une réservation de dernière minute donc pas d’autre choix… Bon petit-déjeuner sous forme de buffet avec les boissons chaudes servies à la place (café et thé cependant assez quelconques).

L’hôtel est facile d'accès car un parking gratuit se situe juste en amont. Nous avions une vue magnifique sur le château depuis notre chambre. Les chambres sont cosy et confortables ( chambre triple nous concernant) L’accueil est chaleureux. La rue était calme mais comme ce n'est pas encore la pleine saison, je ne sais pas si c'est toujours comme ça. Le petit déjeuner avec beaucoup de produits locaux est vraiment top. Rien à redire sur le séjour, le rapport qualité prix est plutôt juste
