If you don’t want to read all of it, long story short, a disgusting room, 700 € lost, no real reason why some of the money cannot be paid back. A manager who does not speak English and is only the manger when he feels like it. Room was at the same level as the beach. You enter through the terrace door, no other windows in the room. Toilet seat didn’t seem to be cleaned, spiders lived in the curtains, mold in the shower, bedspread with stains, round bed but no round sheet, weird smell in the room which did not come from the drains (pictures attached). We complained and wanted to check out. They did offer another room, but we did not want to stay any longer. We had booked for four nights, so we wanted some of our money back. Receptionist could not decide anything, so we had to come back the next day, although no one could tell us when the manager – who does not speak English - would be in. We came back the next day, manager arrived and totally ignored us. I asked once again for only half of our money back at the reception. Was not possible. First reason was that they would lose the commission. I called *********** and sorted it out. Another reason was, that they could not resell the room, because who wants to stay there for only three nights and booking would be at a too short notice. Besides that, they at least had four requests asking for rooms while we were waiting!!! Another reason was that the hotel is full, no more rooms available. Still don’t understand how that is a valid reason, but while the hotel was “full”, one was still able to book seven (!) other rooms online. Also, how would they have offered us a different room if the hotel is fully booked? Then it was ***********’s fault because they were blocking the booking on their end. Once again called them and sorted it out. The hotel only needed to confirm a mail, which they were not able to do. For whatever reason, because there was no valid one presented anymore. Manager – who was the manger only when he felt like it. Because first he was able to decide everything, afterwards he was suddenly not “allowed” to decided anything anymore? What kind of manager is that? He eventually dropped by one time, shouted at us (!!!) in Italian and broken English, then left again. In the middle of figuring out how to resolve this issue, a voucher was offered by the hotel for a few nights in autumn or later in the year. But do you really want to come back, after this? Besides I live 20 hours away by car. And if a voucher is available, wouldn’t at least paying half of the money back also be possible? Because it’s kind of the same thing. Also, the staff ignored various calls from *********** on purpose while sitting right next to the phone.
