La Quinta by Wyndham Altoona des Moines

Our stay was great. The only thing missing was a hot tub. Other than that we would stay there again.

Shaun at the front desk is absolutely amazing. The pool wasn’t working and we were staying to let my son swim for his birthday. Shaun was able to get us a refund for our room and told us to go to the La Quinta 10 minutes away where the pool was working and got me a room there for the same price. He went way above and beyond from what I’ve experienced from hotel staff before.

It was a very clean hotel with a nice front desk man. Also nice decor although it ****** there was no pool. Quiet and comfortable with nice dove shampoo and conditioner and body bar.

Very clean . Good breakfast. Nice bar. The desk staff was great. Texas lady and Asian guy made us feel at home for the 2-3 days we were there !

The first room that we were given a key to was already occupied and there was someone in the room when we opened the door. The pool was also closed.

Same as usual clean, comfortable stay with good breakfast. Easy to get to and to park, slightly noisy this time from interstate but nothing terrible. Convenient location for surrounding shopping and restaurants. Pool was closed entire stay with no knowledge of, which was frustrating because was determining factor on staying this time because other places didn't have pool and knew what were getting here.

Not hotel fault perhaps but the lady at breakfast next to us found a piece of glass in her gravy for biscuits. I took one bite of mine and it felt like I was chewing on ground up glass

We arrived around 8 pm and the poor manager was alone working the desk and had been there since early in the morining. He was still friendly, but could have surely used some help. We were driving cross-country and I was looking forward to stretching out in the pool but it was closed. Otherwise, fine stay.

Front desk receptionist was absent, waited some time to speak to someone, and when they arrived they were very unprofessional. Poorly dressed, with a bad attitude. Kept speaking over me, which was very frustrating. I’ve stayed in La Quinta locations all over the country with my dogs and have never been charged a pet fee. When I asked why this location was charging me, there was no compassion in her answer apart of “that’s just how it is here”. The hotel is clean and the room was perfectly ready. My only problem was with the first and only face that I saw representing the establishment.
