loved almost every part of this experience and stay. The beds were very comfy and great atmosphere in the communal areas. To improve the shower issues need to be looked into as currently they leak and are a bit untidy. However overall would book again.

Amazing and unique experience. I don't get to sleep in a train hostel every day. It's also really well located since it's next to the train to the airport and city centre, the tram and the metro. There's staff 24 hours so it was safe.

If you book this property through *******, they will make you pay twice the booking price as they say that you book only 1 bed (even if you book for 2 people and that the price for 2 people is similar to what is on their website). Do not book through *******! It's overall a nice place, but a scam for people who do not book on their own website. They do not let you know about it upon check-in but will most definitely take the money from your bank account!

Yes this is unique but the experience is not desirable. The rooms are small and cluttered with cords and no place to store your belongings, you are not given a room key but are told.to rely on your roomates to have the receptionist lock it when they leave. There is 1 possibly 2 very small toilets on the train car that holds close to over 40 ppl. I was told that the room next to me was being paid for by the government so i assume its either for homeless, rehab or exCon which is fine except I paid more here than the usual hostel. The trains next door run until 1am and start up again at 7am. I woke up the 1st morning with very swollen eyes and bite bumps all over my face. There is 1 outlet with an extension cord per 3 bunks. When I did complain to the owner as I was running out the door he told me I should have gotten out of bed at 1:30am and told him about the fighting in the room next to me. The receptionists are nice and helpful but im sure limited on what can be done. Dont stay here unless its your last choice or you are young and dont care.

A great and memorable experience overall. Having stayed over for 2 nights during my time in Amsterdam I can only recommend this sleeping accommodation. First off, the concept is a great idea and just works just so very well. Of course, while sharing a compartment with other guests may seem uncertain, I personally had a positive experience, as it appears to be a common sentiment among others as well... Two key points stands out and worth highlighting here. First, the continuous kindness and attentiveness of the staff left a lasting impression while second, the outstanding cleanliness of both the sleeping areas and shower areas which was particularly appreciated. Besides, it's worth remembering that the Train Lodge is located quite a distance from Centraal Station. In my case, I was glad to have my own bicycle or there is a train stop that will take you there.

We slept here for 2 nights and it was really cozy. The staff were amazing and we even met a fellow dane. We also loved how it was really close to a train station which we had really good use of. The rooms were very small but we made it work. The hostel was right next to a trainstation so you could hear the trains a lot, but in some way it adds to the charm. The breakfast was good and made us full for the day. We would really recommend for anyone. It was bloody lovely🤓

What a great location and unique stay. The Train Lodge was very easy to get to from Schipol Airport by train and was in a super location to get into Central Amsterdam via the no. 19 tram. The accommodation was clean and welcoming. The staff are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There is a small lounge/dining area where you can order soft drinks, hot drinks, beer and snacks. Shower rooms and toilets are at both ends of the sleeping compartments. They were clean. Beds are supprisingly comfortable, wider than expected and the bunks are 3 tiers high. Compartments have aircon, plug sockets and a sink. Good value for money.

I wanted to say that my trip to Amsterdam Train Lodge hostel was absolutely fantastic. The staff were all very friendly. Sympathetic of my situation I found myself in on arrival, and communications before I left the UK, and after check out. The breakfast was out of this world, very tasty and set me up for the day. They were very knowledeable about from fares for public transport through to where the best attractions were. They couldnt do enough for you. Highly recommended, and if your a train spotter as I am, it was a trainspotters paradise!!
