Amazing service from the staff. We were welcomed with cold fresh drinks and hot towels walking into the hotel lobby. Bags were taken to the room and we were able to tour the hotel prior to checking in. Once checked in Woel Farook made sure our stay was pleasant. He gave us a great view of the Nile. Also Mahmoud at the pool and bar took care of us every day there. The kids loved him as he entertained the 2 year old and 10 month old. The pool service is excellent. Can’t wait to go back. I definitely recommend staying at Movenpick.
This hotel was definitely a step up from Pyramisa Isis Island, which was the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. The room was comfortable enough, the price was good, and there is a decent pool and a fabulous view of the Aswan Corniche. It was walking distance to the Nubian Museum and to the local McDonalds. As a tourist, you will get harassed constantly by the vendors as you walk, and it is very annoying. The food was not very good, but we found enough to eat. The shower was very weird and would go from unbelievably hot to cold. The worst part was that we were cheated by one of the male receptionists for a purchase at the Italian coffee shop in the lobby. He charged us 6 USD when the cost should have been under a dollar. Not a big deal for us to be charged 6 dollars for decent coffee, but it was the fact that he deliberately cheated us that really bothered me. I didn't throw a fit and let it go, and we just went to breakfast at McDonalds after that experience. The hotel lost money for that reason, as we certainly would have purchased many cups and coffee and pastries from them. Their loss. We also felt that one of their staff members was trying to scam us by asking (insisting) for change for a $20 US bill. The way he acted with us was very suspicious.
Our first impression was great. Beautiful lobby & wonderful staff. We were sent across the driveway to rooms on the Nile. The view was great, but the constant honking of horns due to the road being very close, was not so great. The Wifi worked very well. There was a lot of storage in the room. And room service was excellent & food was delicious. We even got a box lunch for breakfast the next morning & it was stuffed full of good things. The furniture was very old but that is not an issue if all else is well. However, the beds were the hardest I have ever slept on, with high pillows that felt like a full bag of flour. And then there was the dirt. I am not known for my house-keeping skills, but this dropped below my standards. Dirt on the bathroom door made me want to not touch it. The walls had dirt & stains on them. Some things were broken & holes were just left in the walls. The curtains were not clean. I felt dirty every time I touched something. The bedding seemed to be clean, though. Thankfully, we were only there for 1 night, so we let it go, as it was booked for us by tour company. we would not stay there again, despite all of the good things.
This beautiful hotel, decorated in a colourful and tasteful Nubian style, is a jewel right on the Nile. Attention to detail - clean, comfortable beds, gorgeous bathroom, beautiful private patios overlooking the river, and locally made art - is evident everywhere. The attentive, gracious staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and pampered. The delicious food is designed for everyone’s taste and can be enjoyed indoors or outside next to the Nile. A lovely infinity pool and hot tub are available for your relaxation and pleasure. Everything about this hotel is more than a five star experience.
ゲゲストI immediately typed this review on my phone upon departure because I was so excited to post it when I had some time and internet. Hadouta Masreya is an incredible experience! My ONLY regret is that we didn’t have enough time as we didn’t land until 1:30 am and had to leave around 9 am. Hospitality: Hamed and Shereen were extremely accommodating during and before the trip, respectively. Shereen helped me coordinate via WhatsApp transportation from the airport (and to our Nile cruise pick up point), as the Nubian Village is not directly off a main road. Our drivers were there for airport pickup on time and patient with all of our luggage and how late it was. They even came back to take us to our Nile cruise pickup point. Furthermore, one of the drivers helped us contact our tour guide when we couldn’t find our guide at the cruise point. They ensured not to leave us until we were in safe hands! Upon arrival to the guest house, Hamed welcomed us with open arms- literally! He was on the steps upon arrival (it’s 2:30 am at this point) and super friendly and helpful! He offered us juices and helped set us all up. In the morning, he offered us snacks and beverages (as we were too tired to wake up early enough for breakfast- which was definitely offered!!). Just such wonderful hospitality and we felt so sad to leave! Room: My parents had a private room on the first floor and my husband and I had one at the top floor with the view of the Nile. Both rooms were clean and had functional AC! The bathrooms were updated. Like the vanity and tiles look better than the ones in my bathroom at home LOL. The mattress was on the stiffer side, but that’s a good thing for us, as we do prefer these types of beds. The view was incredible too in the morning when we woke up! Heads up before you book: the Nile view rooms have a lot of stairs so be prepared if that’s what you book. We knew that going in so we had ourselves mentally ready! Ambience: Nubian Village is so special and beautiful. I really want to come back and visit again! The colors are so vibrant and you could feel the sense of community and pride in their village as you’re driving through. There are cute markets within walking distance too. Overall, these positive reviews are spot on, and the pictures simply don’t do this properly justice.
JJoshDBWIt’s a 2 sided coin with this hotel, some positives and some negatives in all areas. Location is very close to the Nile river and train station which is convenient but the balcony of our hotel room looked out on some garbage tipping sights that were always crazy busy with construction, wild dogs barking, and Islamic prayers blaring from speakers until the early hours. The service at reception was okay depending on who was there at the time and they did organise the trip to Abu Simbel on a day’s notice. The wifi never worked but the room was clean and comfortable enough.
Overall, not bad price for the room - reconsider using if you have trouble sleeping with loud noises or need wifi.
