Even Hotel Austin Uptown Near the Domain

Great stay! Very clean. Staff very friendly. Big rooms with comfortable beds. Nice location. Will definitely stay there again.

I am giving this hotel a four star review, though 3.5 might be closer. I chose this location because they are currently offering triple points and their emphasis is on fitness. As usual, I will list the PROS and CONS of this hotel. 1. Very clean as you might expect from a new hotel. Lobby and room were both spotless. 2. Comfortable bed, nice furnishings, nice bathroom with assorted soaps. 3. Free internet 4. Free parking 5. Nice staff. I met Oscar at the front desk and Luis the Manager. 6. One of the nicest equipped gyms I have ever had (and I travel extensively) Cardio equipment was Echelon, machines were Matrix, lots of free weights. 7. Nice looking pool shared with Cambria Hotel across the courtyard. CONS 1. Platinum members are supposed to be upgraded to suites if available. The hotel was absolute dead, three cars in parking lot and we saw a total of two other guests. Not only was I not offered a suite, my request for a king room was denied since I had booked a room with two queen beds. 2.Echelon bike in workout room was not set up. Luis allowed me to use the bike in the Cambria which is owned by the same owner. Solved the problem, but no excuse for hotel themed on fitness not to have it set up. Additionally, tv's were not hooked up to cable and remote was not available. 3. I mistakenly thought breakfast was included as a Platinum, though I was only offered points or a drink. I have stayed at other IHG hotels that all offered free breakfast, and I think it would have been a nice touch considering the hotel is new. 4. One of the two elevators was out of order. It wasn't a big problem because we never had to wait. 5. We stayed on the fifth floor. The smell of the corridor while not unpleasant was noticeable and hard to describe, but you notice it. 6. The hotel advertises that it is "near the Domain." We didn't stay here planning on visiting the Domain, but when we did we realized the hotel was approximately three miles away and not walkable. 7. Speaking of walking you need a vehicle because nothing is within walking distance. AND LAST AND THIS IS MY BIGGEST PEEVE 8. When we checked out there was a $9..99 Hotel Service Fee (per night). I would swear I didn't see this fee when I booked the hotel, because I rarely stay at hotels with resort or destination fees. The clerk at the front desk didn't know what the fee was for but said he had just received a call from another guest about it. When I got home, I looked it up on the IHG website for this hotel and this is what it said: Effective April 21, 2024 (which suggests it wasn't there when I made my reservation last month) "Enhance your stay with our all-inclusive serve fee, which conveniently covers Visitor's Parks and Wildlife Impact Fees. Avoid at all costs. There is no security. Our first night and there were multiple car break-ins. Hotel staff/management was completely indifferent and didn't care at all. Their response was honestly rude. Come to find out, this is a common occurrence in the area. The hotel needs security. We spoke with a nice lady and her family as they were taping up their car window. She informed us she expressed her safety concerns to the manager. The manager said she could park about a mile a way and walk her butt to the hotel. Like I said, response form the hotel was rude. On top of that, the hot water barely worked and the ice machine was broken. This is a brand new hotel as well. The breakfast buffet is awful and $24.99 per person. For $200 a night, I expect more. But, the icing on the cake is the horrible management. Avoid.

I can not say enough great things about Even hotel. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted and treated like family. The smell is divine when you walk into the lobby, very welcoming. The concierge staff were all amazing! Oscar, Joey & Johnny ( I’m sorry ladies I can’t spell your names) you were all so fantastic! Thank you for treating my husband and I like family and for taking care of us. Our suit was amazing too! The bed and pillows ( I had to buy one because they’re that good) are so comfy, we slept like babies!! The bar staff were also sweet and friendly. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for taking such great care of us. We will absolutely be back the next time we come to Austin. PS - Oscar, you are An amazing soul! Wow! Our stay was SO GOOD! From the welcoming Oscar gave us at the front desk to the excellent bartending by Natalia and even a visit to our table by Luis the general manager, we were just bowled over by the quality of our stay. Everything was designed with comfort in mind! After a long day on the road this is just what the doctor ordered!! Rooms were lovely and well appointed. We LOVED the walk-in shower and designer soaps and lotions. Felt like home!! Our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer! Definitely on our ‘go-to’ list!! M.—-

Had a great time while staying here. Hotel is awesome, staff are all nice. Joey at the front desk was super helpful and Lauryn makes killer drinks. Try the pineapple mojito. Really a great hotel for the price, worth checking out if you're coming to Austin!

Beautiful new hotel! The room was a hypo-allergenic room which helped me out as it’s allergy season. I needed a place to relax before I saw family after a long flight day with no sleep the night before. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I travel a lot for work so most of my time is spent in hotels and I can honestly say this is one of the best experiences I have had. This is now my go to place to stay in Austin.

One of the best hotel stays I’ve had! The staff, especially Joey, is always friendly, welcoming, and helpful! The hotel is beautiful and has incredible amenities. I will definitely be staying here again and recommending to my colleagues!

Samantha really made our stay great. Personable, nice and happy. The hotel was spotless, the gym was awesome, location was great. We’re IHG diamond elite stayed at IHG locations all over this is one of the best we have stayed. Food wasn’t the fanciest but it worked for us. This hotel is also a month old so I’m sure they will figure out what works best for food. Overall the staff made it great
