ヴィリャス アルトゥラス(Villas Alturas)

After three years we came back to this gem place and it always delivers. Alturas is a small and intimate hotel with only 7 private villas. Each has a balcony with a sitting area, hammock and astonishing views. The stuff will know you by name and we had the privilege of knowing Casey and Jorge who really helped us with everything we needed, starting with amazing pina colada and phone calls to book activities. Our room of 4 people was with the best view of the ocean. Not all rooms have the same view. However the pool area is the place to spend your afternoon and watch Tuscans and Marino Ballena national park from above. The food was delicious and the presentation was very attractive with attention to the esthetics. Will definitely come back for the 3rd time

Absolutely stunning! Excellent view, great food, friendly staff. Great spot for bird watching. Very quiet and relaxing. We rented a two bedroom villa. Very spacious. 100% recommend and we hope to return! Make reservations for the animal sanctuary in advance. We tried to get tickets a few days ahead, but missed out.

Service and coffee were very bad, A/C in bedrooms only. Horrible, steep, very rocky road up to hotel, makes you feel trapped. Waited almost two hours for dinner first night. Food was good. Servers clueless. Stayed four nights this week. Do NOT order the tuna steak. Got sick from it.

We booked this last minute as an alternative to our more rugged lodge in the mountains. It was a perfect antidote! The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, the location overlooking the ocean was breathtaking. The food was probably the best we'd experienced during out 10 day Costa Rican visit! Would definitely return!

We just returned home after an 8 night stay at Villas Alturas. We had the MOST INCREDIBLE stay at this hotel. The setup was so unique. It felt like we had rented out an AirBnB, but had the hotel amenities right at our fingertips if we wanted (which we did as the food and the pool were awesome!). The food, drinks and pressed juices were so good and really affordable. The pool was the perfect temp for all us, just so refreshing! The hospitality by all of the wait staff was top notch. And the views…oh, the views! Just spectacular! Book your stay now!

Stunning 180 degree ocean views! Its amazing to sit at the pool and look down at the Whales Tail in the distance. Our suite was huge and very nice. The food at the restaurant is amazing and actually a great value considering the quality of the food and the wonderful location. Our stay here was one of the highlights of our trip. The only down side is its quite a steep drive up a long gravel road to get there, so be sure you have a 4 wheel drive. Water was good to drink. We saw monkeys right from the parking lot. Be sure to book at tour of the adjacent animal shelter while you are there. Another nice bonus is a welcome drink, plus local microbrews on tap at the bar (only hotel we stayed at which had this).

We loved staying at the Villas Alturas! The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating, and the views are to die for! We were originally staying near the beach in Uvita but visited alturas for the wildlife sanctuary. Upon looking at the villas, we knew we had to cancel our other accommodations and stay here! In addition to the symphony of nature sounds, we were able to spot parrots, toucans, caterpillars, and monkeys in the trees! The views during sunset are spectacular. We’d give this place 6 stars if we could!

What a place! The villa was very good equiped: beautiful kitchen, luxury bathroom, fantastic deck! The view was amazing: you can see the whale tale. The staff was friendly and made sure we had a great holiday. Diner was excellent! We stayed only for 3 nights, and are still talking about this place!

We came for our anniversary and were amazed by the views and friendly staff. Everything from check-in, to meals, to excursions was seamlessly handled with the brightest smiles and friendliest attitudes. The whole staff ensures your stay will be delightful. Villa 3 had the most epic view, the restaurant and pool on-site made our stay super relaxing, and kudos to Roger for his local guidance and high-level customer service!
