ホテル エル グアハタカ(Hotel El Guajataca)

Great hotel but need an update in the rooms other than that the place is beautiful..

There wasn’t any water for two days. The sheets were old, the quilt smelled like it’s been in the closet without being washed for months and the floors weren’t clean, they were sandy. My allergies started up once I turned on the air conditioner.

We were super impressed with this place. The ocean view was breathtaking. The lobby was clean and modern but the rest of the place including the rooms were old and needed attention. Other than that everything was great. The surrounding were clean and the landscaping well maintained. Our room, bed and bathroom were clean and smell clean and we can tell by experience. We will stay again!

Could hear the melodic waves crashing on the shore. Beautiful views of ocean and shoreline. Friendly, helpful staff. Additional bi-lingual staff would be helpful.

We loved the location of hotel, room access to the beach. The room had a water leak in the bathroom, it was a very bad leak, ceiling was damaged from the water leak, looked like dry wall exposure, based on the age of the hotel, likely asbestos exposure. We reported it to the front desk; hotel staff did not have the decency or courtesy of offering another room. It was unfortunate.

The ocean view was beautiful . The room needed major repairs the wall stucco was old and broken off. The room didn’t smell or seemed like it hadn’t been swept or mopped. No dresser or table, one very small nightstand to share between the two beds.

Beautiful infinity pool that overlooked the ocean. Walkable beach, though too rough to swim in. Whales passing by.

During our stay in the week there were really few staff during the night and the restaurant closed much earlier than advised. The room was pleasant but had broken sliding doors and one single toilet paper roll. Pool was decent and beach area was nice. Overall very average experience.

Recently renovated lobby area and a larger pool with an adjacent bar. Great ocean views from all rooms and priced ridiculously low compared to most San Juan hotels. I saw an overnight security guard on staff and the parking lot is now clearly visible from the front desk windows. If you don’t mind the one hour drive from the San Juan airport, I highly recommend this place.
