ジ・アール(The Earl in Charlevoix)

Everything about The Earl was fantastic. The room was so nice, super modern! The pool and hot tub was also a lot of fun! The only thing I would change would be the breakfast, maybe add some scrambled eggs, and bacon/sausage. Other than that, the parking lot was always full at night but convenient street parking right next to the hotel. Highly recommend!!

Loved our winter weekend here! We will be back. The indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi was great. Note that the pool is smaller, but fine for a quick swim. The hotel room was well decorated and clean. The bedding is a bit thin, but that was the only complaint. Service, cleanliness, style, and comfort are all on point. We will be back.

Hotel was beautiful, spacious and clean. Parking is difficult specially in the evening/night.

Upon check in, our room was not cleaned. They had no other rooms for us to take, so we waited for staff to “clean.” It was only given a quick once over, and the staff threw away my son’s leftovers. After assuring us we could leave our belongings in the room during cleaning, Staff left our room door open & unlocked while she went elsewhere to gather supplies. Later, I stepped on a screw on the room floor and found a nasty bottle of used KY jelly on the bed platform. Pool was closed half the time, and bummed out the kids. Parking was AWFUL, no room whatsoever, had to park on the street and got ticketed for doing so.

Though expressed concerns about noise at check-in, given room on noisy busy highway. Not much sleep. Also room fan very noisy. It was probably a very nice hotel in its earlier days, but won’t be returning.

As always the accommodations were first class and the staff was also very welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and spacious and very inviting and hip. Huge fan of this place and will be back again soon!!

Great modern property with lovely staff and very convenient location. Free breakfast and amenities are wonderful, would definitely stay here again!

Staff was very nice. Toilet paper holder was broken and paper almost fell on floor. Shower floor was dirty, probably from the fancy patterns used. Could not shut off light under the bed which prevented the room from getting dark. Called front desk and they told me that there was a switch next to the bed. After searching and searching, we gave up. Next morning, turns out it was a switch all the way by the front door and it seems that nobody knew this. A loud fire alarm went off in hotel, in every room, at 12am waking my family up in a panic, we rushed to find clothes and get dressed to get outside in the November cold, nothing happened and nobody came outside to say anything. Went back in to try to get back to sleep. 20 minutes later, fire alarm goes off again. again, nothing. told hotel staff and they said, 'no worries, it's fine, it was a false alarm'. It wasn't fine for us not being able to sleep and standing outside in the cold. No warm food for breakfast, such as eggs. There was instant oatmeal which turned out to have flax and chia seeds in it. No normal oatmeal was available. Went out to buy breakfast somewhere else, costing us more money. We paid almost double the rates of other hotels to stay here based on good reviews. The place was really stylish but wish I could say that a good rest and a good meal were part of it, which is the #1 purpose of a hotel. Next time I'll just save money and find somewhere that we can actually sleep.
