Seeking: Traditional 5*, one night spa break with semi-formal fine dining. Conclusion up-front: One expects 'excellent' based on reputation and price. We felt we received it. One night left us as relaxed as a week. A pleasure to be somewhere things are done 'right'. Aiming: 5 Is: 5 Booking/Reception/Lobby: 4. Minor mark down. Pre-check in dinner reservation hic-up (corrected in short order). Valet service/luggage transfer wasn't clear on arrival. Short wait on check out. Fudge and still water readily available at the slightest sight of dis-ease. Room: 5. With the firm caveat this product is delibrately constrained being a period property. The sound insulation and materials cannot be of new build integrity. Character is the charm. Were upgraded to a suite with walk in wardrobe, lounge area, hidden roof terrace (knowingly sacrificing views available elsewhere). Lavish whilst understated. Turn down service offered. Spa: 5. Magnificent frontage. Multiple Thalasso stations. Outdoor Jacuzzis. Dedicated bar/lounge. Plentiful amienities. Bar/Main Resturant: 5 - Menu: 5 Varied, not cluttered. Bias, but not limited, to classic rural English dishes. - Food: 5 Verging on 'star contender' level. Veal faultlessly cooked. Breakfast is a traditionally well furnished triumph. - Beverage: 5 Solmellier & selection excellent. Due to Solmellier technology there is the option to purchase most (fine) wines by the glass. Bar manager particularly knowledgeable & passionate (French 75 & and a sturdy cheese selection). Service: 5 Immaculate individuals non-intrusuvely appear on the drop of a menu. If you don't know what you want, they will. Decor: 5 Caveat applies. Beautiful country house. The lounge bar is classic deep rouge with fires roaring. Atmosphere: 5 Warmth, along with cool efficency, not at all stuffy. Family friendly whilst not intrusive to a couple. Setting/Location: 5 Intriguing drive, main building grandly set on a smooth ridge line. Peaceful. Advice: Nil. If you like this original style of establishment, go. It will be difficult to disappoint.

Delightful hotel delivering great service through Clive and his team. The food experience in both main restaurants was excellent. Our room was very spacious and well equipped. Great facilities, lovely grounds, adequate car parking and a great spa facility!

Went for a spa day and left feeling so relaxed !!!! The spa was so clean and warm the hydro pool is just simply amazing I could off spent the whole day there in fact we spent a good 6 hrs in that room a few bits of wear and tear but that's ro be expected from any place. I had my first ever massage and wow I was not disappointed the lady was the sweeties person I have ever meet and has hands like magic !!!! Over all the staff are fantastic lovely and friendly Well worth the price you pay

We got married at Chewton Glen in May this year, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about the experience. Georgia, the wedding co-ordinator, is incredible and such a lovely person. She made the whole planning experience so enjoyable and we loved every minute. The day itself was perfect and went seamlessly. Both Georgia and Thomas made sure the day ran smoothly and really put us at ease all day. All of the staff were so kind and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was unbelievable and got lots of compliments from our guests! The venue is beautiful! We got married in the walled garden but there was a back up indoors option should we have needed it which took away lots of worries. The photos are amazing with all of the beautiful spots round the grounds. It was a fantastic hotel to stay in too. The suite we stayed in was beautifully furnished, very clean and was spacious enough to have everyone there to get ready in the morning. I can’t recommend here enough for a stay or a wedding. I’m so excited to have this beautiful venue as somewhere we can go back to and remember our special day.

Afternoon tea yesterday not as good as previous times I have been. Sadly my experience on Saturday was bit disappointing. In previous years the afternoon tea was superb and attention to detail was first class. That's definitely Not the case anymore for whatever reason this is. We had a chipped tea pot and sandwiches although lovely are very very small now. It seems to be scaled right down to the bare minimum. The young servers were nice but a bit all over the place. Lefthand didn't seem to know what the righthand was doing feeling. The ambience is always nice with lovely views but sadly for my friends and I just not as it should have been. Which for me is a shame as I was expecting what Chewton Glen has been known for. I've noticed other very similar reviews saying the same thing as myself which I did read beforehand but if I'm honest didn't expect to be writing in agreement sadly.😒

The spa is lovely, It's a great experience. With the spa package you get breakfast, lunch, soft drinks, a class, treatment and all day use of the spa. The food is great as is the service and the cleanliness. The hydrotherapy pool is a must, I could spend all day in there. I had a warm oil body massage and my therapist was Amy, wow it was great. I was suffering with neck and shoulder pain and Amy paid extra attention on this area. She checked in to make sure the firmness was ok. Amy is a real asset to your team, thanks again Amy. There was an aquafit class on at the time, I wish I had taken part, the instructor Ria was fantastic, really motivated her class and full of energy, I will definitely take part next time.

What an amazing hotel, beautifully furnished throughout, large grounds and friendly staff. You could find lovely places to sit quietly or to mingle with friends . As it was February the fires were lit cosily . The main restaurant for food was perfect although i have to say on one occasion breakfast was very slow. It was an hour before we had the hot breakfast and then the order was wrong. We were there for 3 nights the other 2 breakfast servings were absolutely fine. We loved being driven out to the James Martin restaurant in the grounds, this is more of a bistro with a different menu from the hotel dining room. It was excellent too. It was great to walk around the grounds and to wend our way out of the hotel to the lovely beaches around New Milton and Highcliffe. It was only the main road that we had to cross that was a bit of a hazard. Our room was delightful and we loved the snacks that we available in the rooms daily. My friend and i attended Pilates classes the tutors were excellent and the Spa area is fantastic Thank you to all concerned
