Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

We have stayed on Disney property for years and decided to try the Polynesian Resort. It was not what I expected, unfortunately. The long house that contains the lobby does not house any rooms. They are all located in other buildings. Our room had a beautiful view but wasn't outstanding. The service was not any better than any other Disney Resort, in fact I would highly recommend Port Orleans instead.

The resort wasn't up to standards for the price. The cleanliness wasn't the best. The staff wasn't very friendly. There was no age limit on the jacuzzi area so there were little kids playing with dolls and running around the entire time we were trying to relax. We even had kids trying to knock out drinks into the water. We did complain to the parents but they didn't care and the resort didn't care either. There is a whole side dedicated to children but really nothing for adults who want to relax. The tables were always dirty at Capt cooks and the food was awful. I get that it is family friendly but no one was watching their children there. One kid basically called my friend the B word when she asked her to stop doing something while we were trying to enjoy ourselves. For the price of this resort it should be more accommodating. We have stayed at cheaper places that have adults only areas.

The worst customer service you will ever encounter. Want to change or adjust your reservation? Ask about your room? Questions about the hotel? You can't call the hotel. If you call their number, you will get a rep somewhere else in Orlando, called a "cast member". They don't work at the Poly, and don't know any more about the resort then you do. Want a supervisor? You have to ask for "Guest Services" - still not hotel employee. Then prepare to wait on hold for 15-30mins before one gets on the phone. Turns out, they don't know anything either. For $800-1,500 per night, you would expect better. At least to be able to speak to someone at the hotel. Too bad, they won't transfer you if you ask. But hey, they will tell you to have a magical day.

The Polynesian is a tropical themed hotel with an expensive price tag. The resort was recently renovated but we feel it continues to lose its charm. Room Review: Our room had lighting issues in which a few of the lights would work on some occasions and be out on others. This created dark spots in the room at night. The shower handles also were loose and felt like they could fall off. The shower dripped continuously after use as well. Cleanliness was okay, floors were not as clean as one would expect in a deluxe resort. The hallways also smelled of **** on several occasions making it obvious that people were smoking inside the buildings. Housekeeping was hit or miss. You would see them in the hallways but rooms were not attended to daily. Resort Overall: The resort is very crowded, and it was difficult to find chairs at both the main pool and the quiet one. With construction taking place on the new villas, the resort is not going to be able to handle the amount of people that will be staying here. Hopefully some of these issues are addressed.

If you don’t mind an over crowed, chaotic resort that doesn’t match the price point for what they offer and what you are paying….give it a try. This deluxe resort is run down after recently being renovated. The hotel staff is very unprofessional and rude!! It’s hard to believe Disney would allow this behavior from their cast members. We stayed in the Hawaii building which is club level. The food was awful, the tables were always dirty, and there was never anyplace to sit. It’s sad that this nostalgic resort is being run so poorly. Hopefully, they will get new management in to see this is not up to par with the other deluxe resorts.

Love the remodeled rooms with his and hers closets, the extra storage, luggage under the beds, lighting, charging ports, and their Alexa called Hello Disney (which can be shut off). We are also fans of the tropical vibe of this luxury resort. Tiki torches on property lit up at night are a nice touch to the ambience. The best part is the location and the convenience of getting to all the parks from here. However, that being said we did not give a perfect score because as hotel guests on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday you are competing with the locals to get a spot at the bar for a cocktail (which we did not get one) or any of the other hotel facilities and we paid to stay here.

Our first trip to Disney and we stayed 7 nights here in Samoa block 1st (ground) floor Pros: - Fantastic resort location, monorail very quick and easy to take to MK or TTC. First one runs at 7am or get the boat over to MK. You can also walk to the TTC really easily - Our room location was fantastic too, easy access to all amenities, less than 1 min walk to the beach and capt cook’s to refill our drinks, it was looking onto the quieter pool and next to the main pool - large spacious room, with large bathroom too (think we may have had a disabled room but this was fine) - cast members were amazing, all so friendly and welcoming - theming is incredible, felt like we weren’t in Disney at all when we first walked in - great view of Grand Floridian, the lagoon, fireworks, MK castle & Electric water pagaent - our room was comfortable and clean with 2 large beds, sofa and small table - bellhop services were great, delivered bags quickly and picked up and transferred to our next hotel really smoothly - Moana themed rooms was a nice little touch - 2nd refillable mug station at the quieter pool Cons: - main pool was busy all the time and had lots of children in it. The pool area didn’t seem large enough for the number of people using it and didn’t seem relaxing for 2 adults to enjoy - it’s a busy resort, lots of guests come here that aren’t actually staying here so you have lots of visitors on the beach for example watching fireworks. Would be great if there was a resort guest only area - bus station could do with more shaded seats especially when you have to wait 20 mins. Felt like one of the smaller bus stops compared to some resorts - would be great if there was a 24hr refillable mug station, we came back from MK extended evening hours at 1.30am and had no where to top up our drinks Overall we loved it here and we definitely recommend staying here to be near the Magic Kingdom. It’s such a beautiful resort and theming is so well done!

Save your money Expected a 4 star hotel Not even close No parking Have handicap placard. No handicap spots. Had to walk 3/4 of a mile in the rain to the lobby. Paid for room with a balcony or patio and got neither. And over booked so couldn’t fix it for me. I knew we needed reservations for dinner but didn’t know breakfasts and lunch as well. Nowhere to eat breakfast but in the lobby. Manager got us into the dining room and was excellent. I paid good money and would have had better service at a Hampton inn. Was a bucket list place to stay. What a disappointment Then we get to the park and the tickets I was sold when I got the room were expired so I had to re purchase them for another 300.00. Would not go back

I stay here every year. This year they gave me a sofa bed for $600 per night. The entire side is also under construction. Despite staying here every year the manager was extremely rude. This trip was over 5k and all you get is a pull out bed. Unreal.
