A very old school Chinese hotel - which mainly seems to cater to hosting events for groups of officials. Location is not really convenient for anything - there is a supermarket nearby, but no decent restaurants within walking distance and not particularly close to Peking University main campus. The breakfast was disappointing and service in the restaurant very poor (by comparison, service in the hotel was somewhat better). Room was very tired-looking and not particularly clean (carpet was filthy), with smell of stale smoke. There were also mosquitos everywhere and I was bitten at least four times during the night, despite keeping the door/windows closed. Lacking in basic amenities, this hotel isn’t really suitable for international visitors (which don’t seem to be their main audience, to be fair). Would not recommend.
