Loon Lodge is a fully renovated cottage nestled peacefully among century old pines along a pristine shoreline on an idyllic crystal clear lake in the Belgrade Lakes region of central Maine. It is totally furnished, artfully appointed, with three bedrooms, one and a half baths (second shower outdoors) and sleeps 4 plus. The living room has a fireplace, tv, and lots of games!Covered porches front and back make for protected sitting areas. An expansive dock accommodates kayaks and sun bathers.This is essentially a cabin by a lake in central Maine. That means rustic and serene, close to nature, and ready for the basic existence of sleeping, swimming, and cooking. Go to bed with the stars, get up with the sun. eat when hungry, swim when hot, nap when tired, and disregard time and weather. The artfully reconstructed 1908 ice house can be used for reading and writing, crafts and naps. In short, bring very little and commune with the natural surroundings that await. Everything can be found in the village, a 3 mile bike ride away. The rental party should ideally consist of a simple-minded chef, an imaginative watercraft facilitator, an observant naturalist, and a gentle fitness advocate, and perhaps a random, somewhat dim-witted tagalong, capable of playing games and baiting hooks!Guests will quickly discover why the setting has direct ties to the story of the classic play, and Oscar winning movie, On Golden Pond. The author’s mother spent 90 summers on location here communing with nature in a timeless world of simple joys, only connected to the outside world by the daily mailboat. You will likewise sense the lure of the lake, as the loons call out at dusk and dawn, or as you canoe along the shore to pick blueberries, and compose your own sequel to the underlying inspirational backstory. King's Kastle is a lakeside cottage with a large screen in porch with BQ grill, table with chairs, see thru roof, 30 feet from Salmon Lake, sandy shallow shore with a 35 feet long alum dock with ladder, 3 bedrooms, sleeps 7, large master bedroom with two full baths, large sleep sofa, complete with 1 two man kayak and 2 one man kayaks plus canoe and paddles. Great fishing just off the dock. The yard has a large stone fireplace and picnic table. Relax to the sound of the loons with their babies on their back, just a few feet from shore with eagle's and ospray's flying overhead showing you how to catch fish. Near by on the lake are the Eagle's and ospray's nests. There is a large grocery store on RT 8 that sells lobsters, food and fishing supplies and 3 pharmacy stores Walmart, CVS, Wallgreens, and 4 grocery stores just a few miles away, also a Marden's surplus & salvage store in Waterville just 15 minutes away where you can buy most everything at a big discount price. Also near by is Caswells food discount store. Cook your Lobster and roast your marshmallows on the outside stone fireplace with a spectacular view of the lake facing the Sunrise. Play golf on the highest and most scenic point in historic Belgrade just 15 minutes away where you can enjoy lobsters and a duck dinner and a view of Great Pond and enjoy the stores with the Belgrade famers markets every weekends.
