Superb Lodge, amazing place with tasteful rooms. Mel and Marc are fantastic hosts who take excellent care of their guests. They cook a fantastic breakfast which keeps you going all day. This place is a must stay when you visit the southern part of New Zealand. We definitely would recommend you to stay with Mel and Marc.

Mel is the best host you could dream off and her lodge is just amazing with a superbe bedroom and a splendid view. I warmly recommend this lodge to all people in search of authenticity and calm in a wonderful part of NZ and close to the splendid Mont Cook and lake Pukaki👌

From the moment you arrive you are in a special place. The Lodge is like a luxury home - all the amenities you want - beautiful decor, really comfortable bed, 5 * living room to enjoy with honor bar plus, spectacular views....a place to relax. Best of all are the lodgekeepers - Mal and Mat. Mal is so welcoming and Mat makes memorable gourmet breakfasts. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

Matuka Lodge was a superb place to stay for several reasons. The host Mel was exceptionally warm and welcoming , the rooms were amazing, the location was perfect for exploring this beautiful part of NZ, and the views were stunning. After your day sightseeing you come back to tea and home made fruit cake/cookies sitting on the decking overlooking the duck pond with the mountains as a backdrop. It was so relaxing. We really appreciated the homely but luxurious feel of Matuka Lodge. It was nice and close to the small town of Twizel too where you could find everything you needed including some great places for a meal. Would thoroughly recommend !

Had a really lovely stay here. Beautifully furnished and comfortable rooms with an amazing view. Breakfast was super - great cooked eggs! Most of all, the best service and welcome by Mel and Mark, who were great hosts. Would 100% recommend.

Lovely place to stay. Very quiet and friendly. Host Mel was very communicative and helpful. Great breakfast especially if you like beautifully cooked eggs. Highly recommended. Room well appointed and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Other guests were discreet but still interesting to chat with if you wanted to.
