シャプラ バック(Shahpura Bagh)

There are few places so steeped in history, comfort, discreet service and understated elegance as Shahpura Bagh. Halfway between Jaipur and Udaipur, in the rural heartlands of Rajastan, here the clock has been turned back, to a more gracious time.

This was the best of the 9 hotels that we stayed in on our tour around Wild India. The rooms and bathrooms were magnificent, the grounds were gorgeous, and the dinner we had was also the best meal in our entire stay, If you are in this part of India you should definitely stay here.

After 10 days in Northern India we arrived at Shapura Bagh to get to know a different India - maybe the most typical India. Located in a small village this 5 star "Guesthouse" welcomes travelers from the button of their hearts. In a way it feels like time travel to the gold old days. Spacious and comfortable rooms, a lot of authentic history, a great garden, a nice pool area and most of all the loveliest staff overseen my Mr. Manager and Maya Singh. Enjoy the food, the tranquility and of course an excursion to a deserted fort for the 16th century which easily beats its famous brothers.

Great service and hospitality, excellent food, spacious rooms, it’s just an experience to go here. Excursion on bikes was very nice to see the countryside with great guide. Also the fortress with sundowner was excellent. All in all great!

This place is somewhat off the beaten track and that is what we loved about it. We wish we had booked for longer. PK's food was fantastic as was his knowledge of birds. We had a romantic candlelight dinner at Fort Dhikhola. We had wonderful walks and drives in the area. We visited the town, saw how the locals lived and went to a school. The school children were very friendly. Photos were great. You don't actually have to leave their property to enjoy your stay, but you should. More enjoyable than visiting the ruins and monuments of India.

So nice location for this " guest house/ hôtel.....the property manager was absolutly fantastic and his team also ! He liked to share with us all about the proprety He gave us a very nice suite Dinner and breakfast were delicious The area of the pool is gorgeous . Highlight of our Indian travels. Spacious and beautiful heritage property. The Manager who acted as our guide is a kind and thoughtful member of the team who made our visit special. The family also took time to meet us making us feel welcome. Highly recommended

If you have the opportunity to stay here, just go! What an amazing place. Unfortunately we had only booked one night, I wish we could have stayed another one at least. We arrived at 4pm and the welcome we received was so warm and friendly. We were asked if we wished to visit their fort for sunset so even though we were tired we said yes, what a great decision. We went there with the Manager, who showed us round and then took us up to the top of the fort. A table had been set up with candles, nibbles and wine and we sat there and watched the sun go down- amazing! The Manager asked if we wished to hear about Indian history as we watched, which was fascinating. What an experience, we felt so special (and the whole experience was included in the overnight price!). We returned for drinks by the pool followed by an amazing meal (mine was specially cooked for me as I can’t eat spicy food). We were so sad to leave the following morning. If we can we will definitely go back. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Thank you so much.
