サンシーロ ゲーム ロッジ(Sangiro Game Lodge)

I've been using Sangiro Lodge quite often over past three years, but am now reconsidering. It is easy to locate, staff are friendly etc. The maintenance and service has now become a problem. No 6 or 7 (I reported it but am not now sure of the number - look on your records) could not be locked from the inside so I had to rely on luck to ensure that there would be no unwanted visitors while asleep. Two nights later, I asked for another unit as I was not sure that the lock would have been fixed. (Think I got no 10 - it'll be on your complaints log). It had no bedside lamp, no soap in the bathroom (empty box only) and the shower has very little hot water and no adjus**ent. Unfortunately when I discovered this I was ready to shower and it was late, so I did not see fit to go the the office and ask for a different room. Also, where I could still get WI-Fi there a year ago, it no longer reaches the cabins. Your rates are not bad, but if your service stays that poor, I'll have to just pay more somewhere else.

Accommodation was good. Hospitality was super. Bed was very comfortable. Always had nice hot water. Unit was clean, just the crockery not so much. Had to wash before we could use it. No spoons in the unit. No drying cloth either. Otherwise stay was comfortable.

Small detail. Shower head in unit 4 need to be replaced. Cutlery needs to be stocked up. Overall the place was neat and clean.

We had a conference of 30 people in Bloemfontein and only stayed over at the lodge, but they really assisted with late arrival and early departure. Great breakfast and assisted with much more than needed. We even arranged a self catering braai, but they assisted with everything I needed. Great hospitality and assistance. Clean and neat and beautiful nature and animals.

The place was amazing, value for money. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a stay in Bloem💯💯

I wouldn’t come here for a holiday, but the joint is well placed to break up a longer trip as it is situated beside the N1 highway. This of course ensures you get plenty of Highway noise overnight. This was supplemented with the noises of late night parties on the night I stayed. The chalets are nice and comfy, with an excellent heating system, nice shower and DSTV. It’s not fancy but it’s cheap! Plus there are blesbok, springbok, wildebeest and alpacas in the game reserve.

The Place is very clean and neat .The staff is professional .i was allocated a cabin very good maintained. breakfast and supper was excellent The lunch packet needs more attention. Beds are very comfortable,Cabins need WIFI please

The place was wonderful, really enjoyed it also the animals and the staff was amazing. However, there were a few stains on the sheets and would appreciate it if there were any garages for the cars to sleep in.

Terrible experience. Arrived after dark, no lights to navigate the very uneven, wobbly and very dangerous stairs up to our cabin. This is a deathtrap waiting for an accident to happen. Once inside the cabin, the 'couch' was dirty, full of huge stains, too disgusting to sit on. The fabric was torn in places, with the stuffing coming out....The cabin has the bare minimum in it, no bedside lamps, pillows as hard as rocks. Tiny threadbare towels. The shower was so dirty, that we decided not to shower the next morning, rather just got in the car as we were and headed home. The whole place just looked dirty. At R820 a night (no breakfast), this is hugely overpriced. We had just returned from a trip to Port Alfred, where we stayed in a boutique hotel for just over R1,000/night, incl full cooked breakfast. Our room there was bigger than the entire cabin at Sangiro, squeaky clean, with every luxury one could want. There is just no comparison. I will never return, I feel their advertising does not show the reality of this terrible place. The reception staff were friendly - the only plus to this very disappointing experience. The whole place could do with major maintenance....
