A really pleasant sleepover for a weary traveller , with a good welcoming that included a complimentary glass of sherry .

Spent two very comfortable nights at The Barracks. Nice spacious rooms en suite. Good amenities in room like tv, coffee. Interesting history to the property as well. Conveniently located near good restaurants that are an easy walk. Hosts are very welcoming.

Firstly, Annalie was so welcoming and even went the extra mile to phone and check how the drive was going, as well as let us know about stop and gos along the way. On arrival, she was kind and warm to all of us, including my doggo. The room was spotless and comfortable and we felt right at home. Would highly recommend The Barracks. This was my second stay (with 6 years in between), and the service and quality of the accommodation has been outstanding with both stays.

Charming. A perfect stopover enroute from Johannesburg to Knysna. A lovely welcome before being shown to our lovely room. Big comfortable bed, great shower and all the amenities you could ask for. A super little pub and within easy walking distance of restaurants. Thank you, we will return.

Lovely would recommend 100% we were looking for a half way point between JHB and Mossel bay because we were traveling with four animals. The lady was so accommodating, the room was awesome and they were so accommodating with the cats she made sure that all the doors and windows were closed before we got there, because we were traveling from JHB and were only going to get there a little later she accommodated that as well.

Annalie and the team at The Barracks are superb! A most welcoming and efficient accommodation set up -- world class for an establishment of this type. For those interested, the history of the facility is set out in an accessible read and is, typical of this place and space, intirguing.

The accommodation was beautifully clean and all amenities are well provided for, including toweling night gowns. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts, and the food provided in the homely dining room was excellent!

The Barracks is truly lovely, with wonderful hosts and value for money. The rooms are so gorgeous with antique furniture and the beds are heavenly. Just what you need for an overnight stay and rest when travelling on long trips. Everything is pure perfection. We stayed in a King Suite with shower and the shower is amazing! Gets rid of all the travel stress in mere minutes. We also loved the attention to detail like the wonderful shower gell, shampoo and conditioner. Felt like being in a spa. The Barracks is a must. The hosts are so kind, friendly and helpful. You can order meals in the restaurant and they have a fully stocked bar too. Great stay thanks!

Very friendly and helpful. Room is lovely and everything you need to know is provided. Bed is comfortable to sleep on and the room is clean. If you like history and old buildings you will love this place. The price is worth the value you get. Would recommend this guest house.
