ホテル デュ サントル ノティーク

We stayed in one of the four hotel rooms in the main building of the hotel. This room is HUGE and modern with a separate living and kitchen area and a large bedroom with an amazing king bed. We have never seen such a big hotel room in all of Europe!!! The room is modern and fully updated. The kitchen has a sink, a very big refrigerator, and a microwave. The bathroom (actually there are two bathrooms with two toilets and two sinks) was clean and modern and the shower was amazing, although it took a while to get hot water. Once the hot water was flowing, it was perfect with tons of flow. And the bathtub, it is so big we never used it because we figured it would take forever to fill up. The bedroom could be cordoned off from the living area via a large curtain that would slide across the room, but we never used it. The bed was very comfortable with an assortment of pillows to choose from. The view from the bedroom was amazing, right on the marina with views of the town across the way and the old town way to the left. We never ate breakfast here, a bit expensive. We just went to the market across the marina and got fresh croissants, Corsican honey and yoghurt, juices, and fruit to start our day, given it had a great kitchen. The rooftop bar is not really a rooftop bar, more like a terrace, but it was nice with decent food and expensive drinks. One night they had live music and we could hear it from our room. The staff were all very friendly. Sammy was especially nice and helped us with food recommendations in town and things to do during the day. The only real drawback with this place, and I am sure most places in town, is that the nightclub across the way called B52’s, plays very loud music every night and they really crank up the music late at night. I had to wear my earplugs to avoid hearing the loud music. Everything else was perfect.

BEWARE. This so-called 5-star hotel should be avoided. Following a two-night stay in late May 2023, our experiences left us disappointed and frustrated. The problems began on the day of our arrival with a steady stream of ants in the bathroom of the master suite, which we had reserved. In addition, breakfast was more aligned to what one would expect from a third-rate youth hostel. Further, there were no premium, international news channels; which as international travelers, we value. Although the hotel sought to resolve the issue of the ants, it was merely a precursor to what would become a much larger issue: a lack of hot water. Unfortunately, this latter issue occurred on the morning of our departure and prior to our needing to catch an international flight. Not only did the hotel fail to resolve the issue in a timely manner, but they sought to compensate us with the offer of a drink upon our next visit; which obviously will never occur as a result of this experience. In short, this establishment believes in 5-star pricing, not 5-star service. Needless to say, at a nightly rate north of 500 euros (including breakfast), it’s not what we expected.

Superbe hôtel très bien placé à l'entrée de la marina pour profiter des soirées animées et des restaurants le long des quais (citadelle à 10-15 mn à pied). Parking gratuit mis à disposition. Très belle chambre (suite pour 4 personnes) avec belles hauteurs sous plafond, baignoire, douche, kitchenette... Personnel sympathique.

Lors de la réservation en ligne, j’ai demandé une bouteille de champagne et des fleurs pour notre arrivée dans l’encart dédié au demandes spéciales pour l'anniversaire de ma compagne. Quelques heures plus tard l’hôtel m’appelle pour avoir plus de détail sur ma demande (marque de champagne) et on me propose soit un bouquet de fleur soit des pétales, je choisis les pétales. Aucun tarif n’est indiqué et on me demande mon heure d’arrivée, j’annonce 14h. Nous arrivons à 14h (heure d’arrivée stipulée sur leur site), la chambre est en cours de préparation, la réception s’excuse et nous propose gentiment de patienter au bar en buvant un verre que nous pensions offert (erreur !). 20 min plus tard, nous arrivons finalement dans une très belle chambre vue port, spacieuse et agréable. Une demi bouteille de champagne, une très belle bougie que je n’ai pas demandée mais que l’on m’a facturée, aucun pétale mais un bouquet de fleurs décevant de 1er prix nous y attendent. Pour le spa nous avons été redirigés dans un autre hôtel de la citadelle (10 min en voiture) évidement on y va pas. Pas de service de couverture, les oreillers et la couette sont parterre dans un placard. Petit déjeuner minimaliste, un buffet avec peu de choix. Lors du check-out on m’annonce un prix à régler de 202€ au-dessus du prix de la réservation sans facture détaillée. J’en déduis : 40€ de petit-déjeuner, 110€ de champagne, 20€ de bougie, 10€ de fleurs et 22€ de consommation au bar. Devant mon incompréhension, ils me font un geste commercial de 30€. Quelques minutes après notre départ, la réception m’appelle pour me demander pourquoi il n’y a plus qu’une seule coupe de champagne. Je lui réponds que nous l’avons accidentellement cassée et je prends un savon parce que j’ai oublié de le signaler lors du départ. De leur côté ils ne signalent aucun tarif lorsqu’il vous "propose" un service et pas plus lors du règlement. La conversation se termine, je ne raccroche pas et la réceptionniste, pourtant souriante et avenante, pensant avoir raccrochée dit à sa collègue d’un ton méprisant : « Ah, ça râle pour payer et en plus ça casse ! » …
