Amazing gardens and easy walking distance to the town. Bed comfy, plenty of room within the unit. The interior just needs some TLC. Just be aware the shower is over the bath, very slippery.

Loved every minute. Left the car and walked everywhere. Could walk all day and not use the same track. Walk into town is 10 minutes max. Perfect stay.

Beautiful, comfortable, convenient, well thought out home away from home. No wonder it got so many 5 star reviews. We stay in Bright as a base to go to Falls Creek. It has everything to make it a pleasant, memorable stay: comfy bed, bathroom with spa, electric blanket, fire place with plenty of wood, 5 minutes to town centre, river walk to town… Alistair was very responsive and accommodating. We love it so much we have booked for next year! See you Merrimeet in 2024!

What was once in its day a romantic Tudor Style Accomodation perfect for couples and small families is now a tired and needed renovated shadow of its past. Our room in the Mews was decorated in a 90’s style of ‘opp shop’ style furniture which probably would suit a backpackers communal lounge. The bedroom could also do with a modern twist to its bedding and the bathroom paint *****ped back and replaced as it was peeling off some of the walls. But with the decor put aside the ambiance is there to suit loving couples with plenty of firewood supplied for cosy night in after a romantic dinner cooked in the kitchen.

So enjoyed our stay in Merrimeet cottages for 2 nights, in mid December 2022. Absolutely cosy well appointed accommodation thank you Alistair and Kellie. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, well equipped kitchen, use of the washing machine was such a bonus. Weather was so beautiful we were able to get our washing dry on the clothesline with plenty of pegs. It’s the small things that make me happy! We were only a 10 minute walk from town along the river, gorgeous. Would definitely stay here again, if we’re in this part of the world.

The location of the Meerimeet cottages are the really selling point. They are in a quiet street and back onto a path beside the river that is only a short walk into town. Middle Cottage was comfortable though it had the shower over a large spa bath that might prove difficult for some. The cottage had a slow combustion heater and plenty of firewood plus a reverse cycle air-conditioner. There’s a bar fridge but no freezer.

Lovely private river view cottage. Great hosts and the most beautiful little town to visit.

A quiet, leafy and private accomodation, but really handy for Bright town centre and all the bars, restaurants and the river walks
