Poor staff managed by slack manager. The manager Peter was polight and happy to help. Sadly though he sees a customer with a problem as the problem and thinks by being argeeable and polight so the customer gets passified and leaves, the problem leaves and he thinks that has solved the problem.
Till another customer comes with a problem and nodoubt the same problems.
The problems being
1. Staff made the food after it was cancelled face to face
2. Staff said they had charged for the food that was cancelled
3. Staff had infact transfered £50 from personal account to ibis and not mentioned it.
4. Room service is via WhatsApp. In hindsight this is because few of the staff understand English.
5. You order the food via what's app, they read 30 minutes later and reply ' ya sure'
6. Then suddenly out of the blue say they thought you cancelled the order when you what app them saying you you have been waiting over an hour.
7. Ibis Brighton clearly wish to look professional. But I dought Peter ever went back to his staff and said.
If you don't charge for food they cancelled and didn't have, you shouldnt tell them you did charge them.
If you take £50 out of a customers account instead of holding £50 you really should tell them
If a customer order good via WhatsApp (they only way they allow you to do it here, probably so they can use Google translate) look at the app more than every 30 minutes. I could see from the app it was closer to 50 minutes between them looking.
Only cancel an order if the customer asks you to cancel an order
Peter was polight and ordered a commentary breakfast I didn't have and at an other time a pizza that I did have.
But christ! Really teach your staff
The room was clean the double bed was two cheap super light single beds put together, that split in the middle when you're trying to get a night's sleep.
I left grumpy disappointed and sad. Sad that managers like Peter don't get taken aside and told to be proactive with his staff.
It was pointless me talking with him, he just wanted me to leave to solve the problem.
There are many other hotels in Brighton around the same price where you are not treated like the problem.

Ps I did write a complaint to the Head office. I never herd back from them. It appears tobe cr@p all the way up, and all the way down.
