Just spent 2 night here , Would highly recommend it. The people are the best very friendly and pleasant, could not do enough for me. The food and service was great , No issue with been Vegetarian . Perfect clean rooms , hot water .great view. Massage on offer if needed, Would recommend.

The best lodge with best service on my Uganda trip. From the first moment we were pampered in this lodge. Rooms and beds are excellent, the food was the best in whole Uganda. Free laundry service and the friendly staff topped all. We returned after the amazing gorilla tracking with muddy hiking boots. Josef the very friendly laundry guy cleaned them and they now look like new. We were astonished that this service was without extra charge.

Stayed here as our home base for gorilla trekking, and it was a great choice! The rooms with balconies are lovely and very comfortable. Highlights: Beautiful hotel, delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, and great location. It's in a super remote area (1 hour of off-roading up into the mountains to get to Bwindi) though, so the main downside was that Wifi didn't work during our stay and cell signal was also non existent. Given that it's a vacation for most, that shouldn't be a big problem, but my husband and I needed to do some work and get in touch with family, so this proved challenging. I also wanted to call out that the roofs of each room are metal, so with the rain and heavy dewdrops throughout the night, they hit the roof pretty loudly. Might be tough for light sleepers, but I thought the sounds were pretty soothing.

We stayed here for 2 nights as our base for gorilla trekking. It's in a great location right next to the Rushaga entrance into Bwindi. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The lodge isn't in the forest, but it's surrounded by some gardens and has views of Bwindi opposite. The rooms were very lovely for the most part: nice comfy bed with mosquito net and a nice little veranda. (A very loose tap in the sink and a small hole in the mosquito net in the bathroom being the only minor issue). Really enjoyed sitting in the main area on the relaxing sofas looking at the Bwindi rainforest on the hill opposite with a cold beer. Highly recommend this lodge.

I spent two nights at the Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge when visiting the gorillas at Bwindi forest. The rooms are very comfortable. Mine had a small terrace with a very nice view over the forest. The area is very quiet and the beds are excellent. A hot-water bottled is put into the bed before you come back from dinner. The dining area is also very cosy, with a terrace where dances are performed by the local community in the evening, Portable stoves are available in the evening, when the temperature goes down. Service is excellent and the staff super friendly. Cleaning of the trekking shoes is included in the service. The food served at the restaurant is good. Wi-Fi is limited to the dining area and can be erratic, but this is the problem faced by most lodges in this hilly area.

Loved this lodge. Service was perfect…thank you Maurice and the kitchen team! The rooms are great with comfortable beds, nice shower, desk, balcony, etc. Food was delicious, with menu choices and table service. Great location for gorilla trek and after they clean your muddy shoes etc complimentary (actually this is the only lodge we have stayed with laundry service included). Bonus was lots of birds around the resort. Note: internet is slow as the lodges are very remote.

The lodge is located just outside the Rushaga gait of the Bwindi national park, and therefore ideally situated. The road towards it is challenging but incredibly beautiful. We were pampered during our entire stay by the staff. Everything you might need, they can provide: they cleaned our shoes that got muddy from the Gorilla tracking, provided laundry service, got us warm by portable charcoal stoves. All of the staff is friendly and professional, with special mentioning of Speziosa! Rooms are nice, with a comfortable bed and apparently new mosquito nets. Lots of birds to watch from the terrace in front.

My wife and I stayed at this incredible lodge for two nights during our six-day tour of Uganda. From the first moment our Land Cruiser pulled in, the service was impeccable. We were greeted by Hule and David, who were so incredibly friendly. Then we were assisted to our room by Joseph who was so helpful throughout our stay. The room was SO comfortable, the bed was perfect, and the shower was just right (the water temperature and pressure were both just what the doctor ordered). The central building has a beautiful restaurant serving delicious food - both local Ugandan fare, as well as international cuisine. Every meal was great and the service was fantastic; Hule made sure everything was perfect each time. The terrace in back of the restaurant offers a stunning view of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On the morning of our gorilla habituation trek, the restaurant opened early to serve us a hearty breakfast before a nine-hour day, provided us with a tasty box lunch that we certainly needed on our hike, and when we returned, the staff took and cleaned our hiking boots so that they looked better than they did before we got to Uganda! Our stay here was perfect, and I highly recommend staying here when visiting Bwindi!

We spent 2 nights at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge on a tour arranged by Bamboo Ecotours. This lodge is close to the Bwindi Rushaga gate where we chose to start our Gorilla trek. The Rusahga gate is relatively close to Kigali (~4.5 hour drive). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We would return.
