4.5 Stars. Centrally located in Altstadt. Nicely appointed lobby. Superior room came complete with dishes, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and fridge. Small table for 4, sofa and bed. Plenty of room. Self service laundry and fitness room available. Lots of options for breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Minor miscommunication on room cleaning, but extra towels brought cheerfully on request.

Very comfortable room in a charming hotel. B&B only - breakfasts were very good. Hotel would supply plates, knives & forks etc if you ordered a takeout meal and the restaurants would deliver to your room. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Cottbus is a charming little town with plenty of bars and restaurants. Nice walks along the river.

We were visiting the area to explore my husband’s Wendish heritage and experience the surrounding area including the Spreewald. The Sorat Hotel was great for both purposes. It’s located in a beautifully restored 1850s building in the old town. Close to the Wendish/Sorbiche museum and the stunning market square. Our room was large and convenient. Breakfasts were a highlight with plenty of choices and a good coffee machine. The staff were helpful and understanding of our lack of German language skills. We were able to park onsite and charge our electric hire car there. On the Sunday we hired hotel bikes to take them by train to Lubbenau and ride back to Cottbus via the Spreewald and villages. They were older bikes but seemed well maintained and were good for this purpose. Overall the Sorat helped make our visit to Cottbus a highlight of our German travels. A home away from home in a delightful region and town.

As this hotel is working with the DR Koch clinic, there was a room booked for us as I had to undergo a hernia surgery in Cottbus. The hotel is perfect located at the heart of the city centre. Easy to park your car in the garage of the hotel. Check in was swift and smooth. The first room we were allocated to was not really ok to us as my partner was with me for support during my surgery time, and had to work aswell from his laptop. So after asking for a different room with a bit more space and a better desk, we were shown 2 other rooms and one of these was perfect. At no extra cost we were able to take this room. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Thinking with you. Beds are ok as is the rest of the room. The only minor thing is the shower wich is a little small in my opinion. But the rest of the room and hotel are very ok for a week stay. B reakfast is simple but adequate. Very easy to get a lunchbox arranged and they were super friendly in everything. Giving information, asking how I was before and after surgery...it is THAT what makes a difference,. Hotels have rooms and tv's and everything. But it is the staff that makes the difference and for us...they did. Great people and very recommendable. As an hotel expert I have no hesitations in going back. Es waren drei wunderschöne Tage in Cottbus. Das Sorat Hotel Cottbus hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Tolle Ausstattung, perfekter Service und sehr, sehr nette und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, direkt in der Fußgängerzone und der Altstadt von Cottbus. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Für ein paar Nächte waren wir als Paar überrascht, daß wir hier so kurzfristig einchecken konnten ... und dann noch so zentral! Das Zimmer ist "normaler Standard" für 4* und das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend! Sehr gern mal wieder!

Freundliches, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal und gute Lage in Cottbus. Auf alle Wünsche und Anfragen wurde zu vollster Zufriedenheit reagiert! Reichhaltiges Frühstück für alle Bedürfnisse ausreichend. Wir würden immer wiederkommen.

Gute Lage für einen kurzen Aufenthalt in Cottbus. Leider war unsere Klimaanlage defekt. Frühstück war ausreichend und ansprechend. Zimmereinrichtung schon etwas älter, aber alles sauber.
