アンティコ ボルゴ(Antico Borgo Etneo Agriturismo)

Charming and picturesque! Loved the buildings, their design, decor, and high quality hardware with memorable tactile feel, as well as the grounds, beautifully laid out. Our spring time stay was an absolute delight. We had with us 3 kids ages 1-8. The 1 year old was enamored with the resident cats. All 3 enjoyed the playground. The views are incredible and it was pleasant to walk around the property among orange and lemon trees. The communication was excellent and Francesca was so helpful in arranging for us a tour guide for Mt Etna as well as a local photographer. The location was very convenient. We took an easy walk to the train station to Taormina and from the station took a taxi up to the theater. From the borgo, it was an easy drive to Alcantara Gorge, Paradise Restaurant in Alcantara, De Natale restaurant in Fiumefreddo, and Naxos seaside gelato at sunset. Breakfast was great with a nice spread and great ambiance. Wish we could have been here for a dinner too but at this time of year they only have dinner on Saturdays and we couldn’t make it. Francesca and the staff kindly packed us a nice breakfast on our last day when it turned out we needed to leave before breakfast time.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It felt like we were staying as a guest at someones home. The best part of this stay was the staff. Franchesca was a true pleasure. She made sure our stay was perfect and was always working day and night to make sure everyone was happy. Her mother Giusy was wonderful as well. She ran the breakfast in the mornings and helped out with guests as well. Was a great experience from staying at a regular hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful gem hidden amongst a rural setting with the vista of Mount Etna domineering the backdrop. The farmhouse is situated amongst orange and lemon groves with a path circling the land around the house. Due to the number of stairs leading up to the house it would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Our room was very clean, air conditioned and large enough for three adults with all amenities catered for, including a change of towels & cleaning undertaken daily. Free Wi-Fi. Free parking. The buffet breakfast with fresh croissants, delicious homemade cakes (made by Francesca’s mum Guisy) and the fresh produce from the farm was ample and a nice way to start your day. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed during our stay. We stayed for 9 days using public transport which was reliable, air conditioned and reasonably priced. Booking tickets online before travelling was easy and saved time. Calatabriano train station is just a 5 minutes walk away with direct routes to Toamina, Catania, Messina. All communication with the hotel was excellent and Francesca was fantastic, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her.

We have enjoyed this place very much. The scenery around the villa is beautiful and peaceful, in case you like sitting outdoor and reading a book, then certainly this place offers that perfectly. It is relatively close to Taormina, and hence a day trip is possible when slweping here. The kittens and cats are really cute and if you like them theyre happy to be pet, if you do not like cats then thats fine since theyre outside minding their own business. The dining (saturdays only) and breakfast area is quite a good atmosphere and the food was tasty and diverse.

It's perfectly located between Taormina and Etna surroundings to spend some days around the area. Anyway, the best part of the place are the hosts and the breakfast. Francesca was the kindest person we found around Sicily and made us feel super comfortable. THANK YOU!

Avoid. Not even 3 star hotel. The agriturismo is in a horrible location: near a highway and near a horrible dirty sketchy village of Catalbiano: I was afraid to walk there looking for a restaurant - it seemed dangerous to me. The reception room of the hotel is occupied by several cats and have several dirty clothes lates outside the reception door. I have nothing against cats but please: this is not the place for them to be! The breakfast and this agriturismo was not fresh, I couldn’t eat anything except their baked sweet pie and some fruit. We came back to our room only to sleep ( good that I booked for 2 nights only and before our flight back home). Rooms are clean. Tip: if you don’t want to stay in the center of Taormina due to difficulty of parking, and would like a country experience you can stay in Zafferana Etnea: good wineries, agriturismos and Etna volcano.

5 Très belle expérience Accueil, gentil,disponibilité… qualité du dîner et du petit déjeuner Belle propriété de production de citron Bâtisse ancienne et de charme Je vous recommande cette adresse lors de votre arrivée ou départ de Catane ou avant de monter à l’Etna C’était l’anniversaire de notre ami et il a eu la surprise d’avoir un délicieux gâteau maison !!! Ho avuto modo di soggiornare presso questa struttura per una sola notte e sono stato molto bene, la camera che ci hanno assegnato era molto spaziosa e pulita, un pò piccolo il bagno che comunque era dotato di tutto il necessario. Ottima la colazione e fantastica l'accoglienza delle Sig,re Francesca e Giusy .
