モナベール ノウ＆スパ(Monnaber NOU Finca Hotel & Spa)

We own a property in Puerto Pollensa and have been coming to the area for the past forty years. We had heard about Monnaber Nou restaurant but had never visited it. Until today. It was a special wedding anniversary so I had booked dinner. We arrived. Beautiful setting. No welcome but a sign directing us to the restaurant. On arrival no one to show us to the table; we asked and were told we could choose our own. Great. The menu was interesting but not outstanding. The prices were ok. However, it became clear that the suckling pig (that I had) and the roast shoulder of lamb (that my wife ordered) were not cooked fresh but were heated ‘portions’. How do I know? Because my wife’s lamb was dry, stringy and, frankly, inedible. I called the waiter and pointed this out. He apologised and took it away saying the chef ‘would cook another one’. He did not offer to take my lechona and keep it warm. So I had to eat while my wife watched. My wife’s new portion of lamb arrived as I was finishing my pork, so I had to watch while she ate. When it came to payment time I asked to talk to the manager and explained that when I come to a good restaurant I expect to have a shared dining experience which means eating my main course at the same time as my wife; and I expect the dishes to be perfectly prepared. In light of our very disappointing experience I suggested that we should not be asked to pay full price. Rather than offer sympathy and few euros discount the manager asked whether we had each, in the end, eaten a main course. I said we had. He said that therefore we must pay full price. I said that what we had experienced was not good and I expected better if I was paying full price. He stood his ground and said that he could not give any discount because it would come out of his pay. Impasse. Needless to say, we shall not return.

We booked Monnaber through Rural Hotels Mallorca and Henrik recommended the rural spa. My daughter and I were here for two nights in April 2024 and it blew us away. Our comfortable room opened out onto the pool where we spent many happy hours. The views were spectacular, the food was delicious. A special thank you to Luca and Carmen for such personalised service - nothing was too much trouble and they encouraged my daughter with her Spanish. Thanks also to the chef who went to extra lengths to create egg-free desserts so she didn’t have to miss out. Wonderful people, wonderful place. A highlight of our Mallorca road trip.

The Monnaber Nou was recommended to my wife and by friends who live close by, so our expectations on arrival were running high! Thankfully we were not to be disappointed as, from the moment we arrived (to a warm welcome from Francisco) our stay was blissfully, relaxing. Our stay began with a light, lunch and glass of fizz on the picture-perfect terrace, which overlooks quite stunning and tranquil Campanet countryside views. The privileged location represents a big part of the experience here. This was followed by a stroll round the expansive and very impressive grounds of the estate, and it’s only then that you realise the amount of effort that goes into ensuring that this multi-generational family estate is maintained and managed to the highest standards, so that guests can sample life inside an authentic, traditional finca. The elegant manor house, adjoining accommodations and the 300 acres of agricultural estates have been honestly and sympathetically refurbished to ensure that the rustic rich heritage of past times has been captured at a time when most hotels are hell-bent at modernisation at all costs. The restaurant has similarly rustic furnishings, it’s sitting rooms, with period furnishings and massive wood burning fires. All of which were surpassed by the wonderful Malloquin cuisine and accompanying carefully selected wine selection presented to us in the restaurant itself. A delicious meal was served with pride and care by Matthias and Ricardo.What stood out was the fact that so much of the produce being served is organically grown or raised on the estate itself. Unlike one or two previous reviews, we found the breakfast to be very adequate, again with many ingredients grown either on the estate or from local producers. I suspect that anyone dissatisfied with their stay may have not done their research properly and expected a stereotypical Sheraton-chain-like experience, rather than the rustic charm of an authentic Mallorquin finca stay. These are very different requirements, so be clear what you are looking for. If it is the latter, you have found the holy grail! Disfrutas! 😀

We were not sure what to expect, driving up the long drive to hotel first impressions were, the hotel is stunning. Reception was only an average could have been better. Must say we had a lovely room (219) Found are way to pool bar, must say spent a few hours there very enjoyable just relaxing and chatting The service was ok, shame the guy behind the bar was using his hands to put ice into the glasses when making the drinks. The evening meal was very good we were half board,allowed to choose from la a Carte menu for an extra €4.50 The bed was very comfy, Sat writing this eating breakfast which is just average, but the views of the stunning countryside make up for it. Over all a pleasant stay, would we come again probably not as so many other wonderful places on the island to visit. Would of liked an early morning swim 07.00, unfortunately does NOT open until 11.00 that was a great disappointment for us. We actually live on the island and once a year we go stay at a hotel for our wedding anniversary

Beautiful peaceful setting for a relaxing break with our young family. But the highlight was being able to play tennis with Ricardo everyday. Lovely guy, great tennis player and excellent coach. Worth staying at the hotel just for him if you like tennis!

fantastic country hotel with excelent gastronomy, the best location to discover the island.

A fantastic week staying in Villa “S’era” at Monnaber Nou.   The villa is lovely, comfortable and spacious with 2 good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a well appointed kitchen (oven, hob, coffee maker, fridge freezer, dishwasher (worth taking a few tablets with you)) as well as the hot tub in the garden.  Very clean, and very private behind a gate.  All towels, including outdoor/beach towels provided.  Nice shampoo and shower gels and decent hair dryers. The hotel is in a wonderful countryside location, you will need a car.  The villa and the two hotel buildings are reasonably separated, it's too far to walk as a Brit in the heat but each site has a carpark and a one minute drive between then was no big deal.  Supermarkets are 10 minutes drive away. Breakfast was nice, pretty much the same everyday and no cooked to order food but a good mix available at both locations.  We were able to mix up the selection between hot foods, pastries, fruits, breads, meats, cheeses, cereals. The pools areas are well maintained, lovely and clean with plenty of loungers.  No dash to reserve a lounger, the main hotel pool better served with bar staff but both worked well.  The bar menu is great, reasonably priced and delicious.  We didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening but looked nice.  The reception team were always available and helpful. I had a couple of tennis lessons with Ricard which were excellent.  Ricard is a great coach, very encouraging and a really nice guy.  Would definitely recommend to players at all levels.  The hotel have rackets to borrow with the two hard courts always available for a game. The hotel has a cycle room and horses available (we didn't use) and produces their own olive oil which is in the restaurants and available to buy...really good. Monnaber Nou is a lovely relaxed place in the countryside, great facilities, quiet and a great place to unwind.  Close enough to the coast if you want and many great places to eat within a short drive.  Agrotourism at its best. .5 star stay!

Nice setting in lovely countryside, you need a Car. Pool area pleasant. Room was classed as Superior but basic. Room & outside area clean. No atmosphere the hotel as two buildings which are 600 m apart (10/15 min walk in 28/30 degree heat July) evening meals, main pool in main building. Staff did there best but not enough of them and not very welcoming no help with luggage. Breakfast (cold option average/ hot poor) plates were chipped. Evening meal expensive for fish & a few vegetables 21 euros

Just great to be back at Monnaber Nou. We haven’t been here since before Covid and everything was just as good as before. We can’t rate the hotel, food and pool area highly enough. Monica at reception was lovely and so helpful. Can’t wait to get back again.
