ホテル ルラル ラ ラヤ 1866(Hotel Rural la Raya 1866)

We booked this hotel as a treat and it really was! We stayed in the Canistel suite with its own terrace and swimming pool. We spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine on our private terrace, drinking the bottle of wine they’d left for us in the room. We ate in their restaurant and everything was delicious and homemade (gambas, padron peppers, croquettas, steak, fries…). We also had breakfast and it was like having your own buffet brought to your table (fruit, cheese, ham, omelette, yogurt, breads, cake, fresh juice…). The staff speak very limited English and with our broken Spanish, we still managed to get by. They were very friendly and efficient.

Terrible location, noisy music and party during the day and worse than it, very uncomfortable mattress. Bad value for the money. Unfortunately it is not a place if you are looking forward to relaxing as the terrible music spoils the a**osphere.

We had a lovely time, our room was with private pool, beautiful view over the countryside to the sea.The breakfast was very good, the staff did take very good care of us

Stayed 4 nights in August with family and friends, to attend our son’s wedding hosted at the hotel on the Saturday. The hotel was perfect from beginning to end - the welcome, the location, the food, the rooms and the service. Very highly recommended

Absolutely great service! Break fast was home made and delicious. Very quaint and peaceful. Clean! Staff was so nice. The hotel was similar to a bed and breakfast and felt very safe. Great fresh fruit and restaurant definitely recommend

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The breakfasts were outstanding - plentiful and delicious. Our room and the communal hallways and terraces were beautiful. We had so much space - a bedroom with gorgeous sea views, a dining and seating area with a fridge and a private terrace with plunge pool (you can't actually swim in it) with sea and mountain views. It was blissful. The first night arriving in the dark we did worry that it seemed completely isolated after our satnav took us the wrong way (use the full address, not the postcode) but you can actually walk into Guimar where there a few bars and more than initially meets the eye but it is a quiet town. But you can walk up into the mountains or go to the beach and restaurants at El Puertito and see so many landscapes in a tiny distance there is plenty to do. Or just sunbathe on the terrace :)

The Raya is a small hotel just outside the centre of Guimar. Can be tricky to find if arriving after dark !The owners and staff are very efficient but kind and friendly into the bargain. Rooms are spacious with everything you might need , with all sorts of quirky antiques,and the suite with a big terrace/plunge pool is an incredible bargain. Food, including breakfast is of very high quality and prices low for the standard involved. The goat stew served at weekends is fantastic. Portions are BIG. Some points to note: The car park is a long steep walk from the hotel. There is no lift. Those with walking difficulties will find this and the stairs difficult. The restaurant is normally closed Sun to Wed, but will open on request. Best to order ahead . The beds are rather hard for some tastes. Guimar seems to attract cloud cool and rain. Those used to the hot sunny weather in the South and Puerto de La Cruz may well be disappointed. A good working knowledge of Spanish is essential, as little English, French or German is spoken by the staff.

Charming hotel with very nice and service minded staff. Be mindful that there are a lot of stares, both to get into the hotel from the parking lot and within the hotel. The breakfast was amazing!

El hotel muy emblemático pero un no se puede cenar y desayunar peor. Rollo comedor escolar todo. Tele no funciona, avisas y nunca van, alfombras del dormitorio con suciedad de años, la puerta del balcón hinchada no abría y dice la camarera, abrala usted si es capaz. Eso sí, muy amables pero no vuelvo más
