Carbis Bay and Spa Hotel

The room is different than you describe online. Services are really poor, staff attitudes were so bad for any hospitality standards. I rarely gave negative comments towards hotel booking, but I am really unhappy this time.

Wonderful room, building, staff, scenery, restaurants, beach, walks and places to visit , everything, in fact, so definitely look forward to visiting again. Loved the view from our room. Walked to Saint Ives and visited Saint Michael’s Mount. Would recommend unreservedly.

The hotel was excellent. We got a really good deal for dinner, bed and breakfast. They reception team and all of the staff are amazing and incredibly helpful especially Ilmer on the front desk. Would highly recommend. Fabulous place! They helped with an allergy issue that my wife had. They could not of been more accommodating. Proximity to the beach and to the train station is excellent, although the latter requires the ability to walk up a very steep hill !!! We had a junior suite with Seaview and it was amazing. We ate dinner in the orangery and, in waters restaurants. Both were excellent with great food and attentive service. We will be returning!

Early in March me and my partner was lucky enough to bring our family to this beautiful hotel for our wedding. The whole team went above and beyond to make this the perfect evening. The food was outstanding, drinks and breakfast the next day from our superior lodge over looking the sea! Would recommend this hotel so highly to all!

We stayed for 3 nights at Carbis Bay to celebrate my 60th birthday. Everything was brilliant and we loved every moment. Dinner at Walter’s on the Beach amazing, the Beach Hut great to relax in and the Spa, Pool and Hot tub superb. Our room, a Junior Suite was excellent with the best view you will get anywhere. 2 areas that could be better - breakfast could be more modern and less formal and the room could do with more storage. All in all a near perfect stay!

We have now stayed here 3 years in a row and have never been disappointed. The previous two years had been in May with glorious weather whereas this time it was over Easter. We knew the weather may be variable but we wanted a relaxing short break and Carbis Bay delivered once again. As I have said before the location is second to none and the food and staff service was top notch. I sincerely hope we can make it 4 years in a row in 2025.

Well I’ll start with the positives, amazing hotel, fabulous views and wonderful facilities! Stayed for 2 nights as a treat from my daughter and from the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough. We were upgraded on arrival to a Junior suite which had a double balcony and everything you could possibly need. With a choice of 4 restaurants (one was closed for refurbishment) we opted for the casual dining ‘The Deli’ where a lovely waitress (Maxine) gave us recommendations for wine and food, we ate here both nights and it was very relaxed and informal. Now for the negative, the breakfasts! Oh dear what a disappointment on both mornings! Overcooked bacon, (couldn’t cut it) nasty cheap sliced bread and filter coffee (who serves that now?) The second morning I opted for continental (big mistake) cheap wet ham, pre sliced rubbery cheese and god forbid what suspiciously looked like Tescos packet miniature danish pastries!! This is such a let down in a 5 star hotel, I would expect a cafetière of coffee, locally baked bread, fresh croissants and a selection of cheese and meats at the very least. Would love to come back but please do something about your breakfasts.

Some of the most attentive staff and I would return because of them. Stayed in the Octopussy room and it was lovely. It was rainy during our stay and the TV system was nice to have. Looked right into the beach so it was very relaxing. I rated it a four because the sofa needs to be upgraded to a comfortable small L shaped couch, as the current one is extremely uncomfortable. The coffee maker has Nespresso pods but they didn’t work in the machine provided. The toilet didn’t work properly so my husband had to fix it two times.
