Hotel Tierra Verde

I had an incredibly pleasant stay at Tierra Verde! Amid a few rainy days in Bocas, this oasis provided the perfect haven for relaxation. The staff's warmth and assistance made settling in a breeze, and there's nothing quite like starting your day with breakfast under the terrace, soaking in the serene ambiance. Plus, the location couldn't be better—with easy access to the island's top happy hour spots like Bibis offering $3.50 cocktails and Coquitos serving up delectable pizza. Being just a stone's throw away from great beaches and surfing spots added an extra layer of convenience to the experience. Jason and Edgar's hospitality truly elevated the stay. Highly recommend Tierra Verde for a memorable getaway!

Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, an excellent location and great vibes!!! We arrived early and they quickly had our room ready at no extra charge. The bar only charged $2 / beer!!! Water taxis took us to the main island in 1min and only cost $1-$2 /person

This gem is in just the right location for just about everything in Bocas De Toro. A 3-5 minute walk to Aqua Lounge, Bibis and many other popular Carenero famous attractions. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of Bocas town, but it’s only a 1-2minute, $1-$2 water taxi away. The staff was always super friendly and were always around when we needed. Our room was super clean and modern. Such a relief from a few rough places we stayed earlier in our trip. We recommend any couple, family or lone traveller to relax in this part of paradise.

So take some of this with a grain of salt because I was grumpy as all get out from dealing with the bugs on the island as they seemed to love me and I forgot to use the bug spray the first morning there. Room was great. The sheets were amazing. It was mostly clean and they maintained it regularly. AC worked great. Location on that island was great. Great view. Breakfast was the basics of bread/ toast, eggs and fruit with juice or coffee and was enough. Staff was super helpful and very good. Cons: having to pay cash. Wish I had known this ahead of time instead of showing up and being asked for a wad of cash.

You reach by a taxi boat right on the pier that is in front. You can also take the taxi back from here. The manager will be there to welcome you. There is always someone on premise. The place is fenced and felt very safe. This place is actually pretty big and is a cabin on the inside. It is very spacious, has a common area, kitchen, and many rooms with private bathrooms, AC, netflix, and there were balconies on every floor. The bed was very comfortable. My room was also very clean and the whole place was neat as well. Breakfast is continental but if you consider the remote location it is just perfect because you have all you need and they give you a lot of food. Coffee and breakfast are always ready by the time you wake up since the manager is up very early. There are also some tables outside and places to just sit on the patio and enjoy the weather. You can also sit in the balcony. The area is very peaceful and no-one bothers despite there being quite a movement of tourists or locals on the main walkway of the beach. The manager will get you anything from the shops if you need. They are very helpful and were also very nice to me. He is also very well known in the area which gives you some security. I would spent most of my day there and at Bibis which is nearby and then take a taxi back to isla Colon if I wanted to go for the nightlife however just staying there is perfectly fine. It is very relaxing and peaceful. I would recommend and definitely will come back. I loved it.

Over the recent Holiday season, I was lucky enough to stay at Hotel Tierra Verde, a small boutique hotel on the leeward side of the island, just a 2-minute boat ride from the Downtown Bocas area. I was there for 5 days and honestly, it was a true adventure, from diving in some of the clearest water in the world to surfing a true deep set of waves on the windward side. The difference between these 2 environments is about a 10-minute walk, cutting through beaches you only see in the movies. If you need that American stimuli for an hr or so there is a great bar in town for a few beers, but you should concentrate on just relaxing in the water hammocks. To sum it up, Hotel Tierra Verde is one of the great true getaways in Panama, to be clear, this is for the adventure and relaxing desired traveler, it is quiet and secluded and it is true island life! Cookie and Ivan are the two brothers that own the place and speak great English for those concerned and are more than helpful in planning your trip with guides, getting water taxis, dinners etc. All in all, it's a place in the world you must enjoy!
