グリフォ ホテル シャルム & スパ(Grifo Hotel Charme & Spa)

Ischia was our first stop in a 21-day trip in Italy and, even though we stayed in some amazing places, Grifo Hotel still holds a special place in our hearts. We had a wonderful room on the second floor with balcony and beautiful views of the water. The room was a good size, the bathroom very nice with a great shower. Rooms vary so when making a reservation be sure to indicate what you'd like (terrace vs. balcony, first floor vs. second, water views vs. garden, etc.). The hotel has a free spa with steam room, pools, saunas, etc. in addition to an outdoor pool and outdoor thermal pool. They were all wonderful to use after a day of exploring Ischia. The hotel location near Ischia Porto was perfect because Porto is where all the bus lines depart so getting to any and all sites using public transportation was easy. The hotel is on a hill, away from the town bustle, so it provides a shuttle to/from Porto. You are required to reserve/call ten minutes before the scheduled time to make sure they can accommodate everyone, but it was never an issue. The bar service by the pool was terrific. Had the best drinks there of our entire trip. But the very best thing about the hotel is the staff. I'm so sorry to not remember the names of everyone, but each staff member was so helpful from the very first young lady who annotated a map of the island for us, to others who made reservations (and changed them when our plans changed!), to the gentleman who oversaw the restaurant and remembered what we liked at breakfast after the first day, to the spa staff that came out to check that the water in the outdoor thermal pool wasn't too hot for us, just anything you needed, they were there, kind and personable. An example: when Francesco ( I think that was his name!) dropped us off at the ferry port for our departure, we realized that my husband had left his phone charger in the room. Not the end of the world, but he was upset and said we would call the hotel and ask them to mail it to somewhere along our trip. Then we said good-by. Just as we were boarding the ferry plank, Francesco called out to us and handed us (across many people) the phone charger! He had driven back to the hotel, looked for it, and brought it to us. That's what the staff will do to help make your trip wonderful. Just an amazing place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel. From the moment we were collected from the Port until we transferred back to the Port to catch the boat to Naples. The rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. The food was delicious….and the coffee was great. Thanks Enzo for making a good coffee for an Australian who doesn’t take her coffee as the Italian people do 😌 We were welcomed with a drink and a staff member who helped us us organise our time on the Island with suggestions and information so we could make the most of Ischia. Most of all though….I would like to complement the staff . Each staff member was friendly, helpful, patient and eager to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely Hotel. We certainly intent to return here one day. Thank you.

Best service og most clean hotel ever. Wow! Great views from Room (202)and wonderful breakfast. Shuttle service to Ischia every time you need it. Works perfect. Cannot recommend this wonderful hotel enough. We will be back if we ever come back to this beautiful Island

We spent five fantastic nights at the Grifo. So relaxing and welcoming. From the moment you arrive you realise you’ve made the right choice as it feels exclusive yet friendly tucked away from the main road. Our room was spacious, clean and it was worth a little extra for a balcony with a sea view. We spent a few nights sat outside relaxing and it’s great for drying swimwear. The spa was amazing and especially the hot pool after a long day sightseeing or on the beach. I paid for a massage and it worked wonders. Food was great with a fair choice at breakfast and they even treated my partner to some cake and Prosecco on her birthday that made it extra special (thanks to the brilliant Enzo who also made us a perfect coffee every morning). Reception team arranged us a scooter, ferry tickets and gave lots of tips for places with a smile. The shuttle bus worked around us and made it easy to get back and forth. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and very likely we’ll be back at some point. The owners were a lovely couple and you can see how they ensure guests are treated well and genuinely care.

Staff was exceptional and truly attentive to every aspect of our stay from the moment we were picked up via their free shuttle to check in ending with check out. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. Highly recommend.

A wonderful hotel with staff that goes above and beyond., personable and address you by name. The property is well maintained and everything is spotless. Would stay here again, highly recommend! The shuttle service is great and very accommodating.

Nice spot, albeit not much within an easy walk so slightly isolated. However, the hotel makes a big effort to alleviate this and runs regular shuttles into Ischia Port/bus station and is happy to collect you when required. Room and balcony were a good size with lovely views. In terms of food, breakfast was excellent with a wide selection and lots of fresh fruit. The coffee was very good too. Our sole dinner experience was not so good as the wine choice was very limited (by the glass) and the shrimp risotto I ordered seemed to be boiled rice with 2 pieces of shrimp on top, rather than an actual risotto. In terms of potential improvements, we felt that a kettle in the room to make tea or coffee would be better than having to go and ask downstairs. Also would be useful to have more outdoor hanging space for wet swimwear and bath towels. Could also replace the single use plastic cups with glasses to make more environmentally friendly. The pool and spa facilities are very impressive. Finally, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we felt very well looked after.

We arrived from lake Garda part of our honeymoon and we were collected by the lovely Antonio from the port .We had a lovely friendly welcome at reception nothing was too much trouble , we opted for room 206 which has beautiful sea views towards Vesuvius and the mainland the room is spacious and modern and we were treated to a bottle of fizz compliments of the hotel . We decided to eat in the restaurant the first night which was really nice and we were served by the lovely enzio who was always a delight .Breakfast was plentiful lots of choice and plenty cappuccino:) it’s a beautiful place to relax it has a great chill out vibe to it the staff are warm and friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to my clients looking for a slice of paradise on ischia thanks for looking after us we really enjoyed our stay

Lovely place, slept well, good breakfast Shower had small leak under door on to floor nothing big deal.
