オテル デュ カナル(Hôtel du Canal)

Disappointing. The location is lovely and I am sure in it's day it was acceptable. Today it's shabby, uncomfortable beds and poorly equipped rooms were not compensated by friendly or helpful staff. The breakfast room was accessible and having seen what was available we chose just to have coffee. This was paid for by my husband. On checkout I was billed for breakfast. Unsure of the cost of the room and thinking it expensive for the standard I paid the amount requested. On realising I had paid for breakfast we didn't get I contacted the hotel. No response! Very poor customer service, hostal like accommodation at hotel prices, nothing to recommend this place or redeem our first impressions.

Claude the owner was obliging to all requests, even providing an area to enjoy the Rugby World Cup and also the terrace where we enjoyed a drink or two. Our 6 rooms all overlooked the Midi Canal thus we enjoyed the ambience of this famous waterway area.

We stayed one night at the end of a canal trip from Homps as it was conveniently located. There was a friendly receptionist that spoke English, though we could have done without him sneezing all over us. The room was clean but spartan and the bath was good to have after a week on the boat. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't make any comment. It's a shame there was no bar. Adequate parking.

The hotel is dingy and run down. In the middle of the night the bed collapsed as the wooden slats of the base were not secured. We had to put the mattress on the floor. We were accused of breaking the bed. No apology from the person running the hotel. He was exceedingly rude and unhelpful. There were however 2 women employees who were helpful. The facilities were basic. Very poor value for money

I liked location of the property, walking distance to the town, restaurants. Nice view from the window. Friendly staff.

We stayed a night here while biking the Canal Du Midi. We had a room over looking the canal that had been renovated. The room was spacious with a nice bathroom. The bed was like sleeping on a brick! However, there was some effort to modernize, as there were usb charging outlets, electric blinds and AC which struggled to cool the room down but at least it was there. The breakfast was very basic, mainly continental. For those with cars, there was heaps of free parking.

Nous avons passé trois nuits dans cet hôtel pour un déplacement professionnel. Le bâtiment semble être resté bloqué dans les années 80, tout comme son dirigeant dont la drague lourde date de la même époque… Être chef d'établissement ne donne pas tous les droits, même lorsqu'à 20h30 on est déjà alcoolisé ! On ne remet pas en cause les compétences professionnelles de son client, on ne critique pas la tenue vestimentaire de sa collègue, et on n'étale pas son vocabulaire très orienté sexuellement pour épater la galerie. Nous sommes polis et patients, mais ce personnage ne tombera pas toujours sur des gens comme nous. L'endroit a pu être agréable à une certaine époque, il est très bien placé au bord du canal, mais ne mérite plus ses 3 étoiles. La déco est datée, les chambres ont mal vieilli et pour 12 euros le petit-déjeuner, on s'attend à un autre standing. Tout le monde se sert dans les mêmes grands pots de confiture, et si vous vous levez suffisamment tôt, vous aurez encore droit à un peu de pain. Si vous n'êtes pas satisfait, vous pourrez vous plaindre directement au patron qui prend son petit-déjeuner à la table d'à côté, c'est pratique. Bref, avec cette situation lunaire, nous avons quand même bien dormi car l'hôtel est calme, et on comprend pourquoi.
