The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club

Wonderful countryside getaway in the cotswolds. Considering the age of this hotel I was impressed with the upkeep. Very clean and well done overall. Staff is attentive and very responsive. Do note that as a very old place there is a mustiness in the rooms and a draft. But you are choosing this most likely for the history. The food was good and the Michelin restaurant was superb. I would gladly return.

We were treated to a night stay at this beautiful hotel, belated birthday present. Driving into the village of Castle Combe is I imagine what it's like being on a film set surrounded by beautiful Cotswold cottages. I remember that War Horse was filmed here. We were greeted on reception by the lovely Lucy, Laura and Marta. It was great also to meet Caro, who is a new member of staff but a great asset already to the hotel. Our room was stunning with an extremely lovely bathroom. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast this morning, thank you Owen, Paul, Alex and Kavi for the excellent service. Compliments also to the chef for the delicious breakfast. There's some lovely walks around the surrounding area which we enjoyed. Hospitality is sometimes a hard, tiring place to be working in but you were all brilliant, thank you.

This beautiful traditional manor house hotel is truly a piece of Old England in the exceptionally picturesque village of Castle Combe. The rooms are all very different according to your choice. We had a large 4 poster room with an enormous bathroom and a view over the lovely gardens. The food here is 6* and the tasting menu in Michelin Star restaurant in the evening is quite wonderful. The staff are all so helpful and their willingness to help is totally genuine and everything is done with a smile. A lovely English hotel!

Just a one night stay to celebrate a big wedding anniversary - and boy did they make us feel special. A huge thank you to all the staff for all of the little extra touches - it was wonderful. The hotel is fabulous. Set in beautiful grounds to either stroll around or to sit and have a drink. Inside matches up to the splendure. Our room was spacious and everything you would expect from a high end hotel. We eat in the Bybrook resteraunt in the evening - a large room with tables nicely spaced out. The tasting menu was great with lots of special dishes to enjoy. This doesan't come cheap but if you are looking at The Manor you probably know what to expect. Again - a massive thank you to all of the staff.

Mitten in den wundervollen Cotswolds gelegen, ideal um das Dorf Castle Combe und St. Andrews abends und am frühen Vormittag ohne Tagestouristen zu erleben. Afternoon Tea könnte mit ein wenig Musik untermalt noch schöner sein, so sassen 3 Paare flüsternd in einem großen Raum, in dem offensichtlich die bereits genutzten Tische nicht wieder vorbereitet oder gesäubert wurden, was den Gesamteindruck ein wenig störte. Die Zimmer sind gewöhnungsbedürftig stilgerecht sehr alt eingerichtet, das muss man mögen. Schlafkomfort ist einzigartig gut, Frühstück in einem zugigen Raum sowohl vom Ambiente als auch vom Angebot her verbesserungsbedürftig. Einziges 5 Sterne Hotel, in dem ich je mein Gepäck alleine 3 Stochwerke hoch und runter über unterschiedliche Treppen und Gänge (Teppich, Stein, Holz) schleppen musste. Beim Zurückkommen aus dem Pub wurden wir ( 2 Freundinnen) im Eingangsbereich zum Vorzeigen der Zimmerschlüssel aufgefordert, das war sehr merkwürdig. Wir hatten in dem unübersichtlichen Gewirr von Gängen und Aufgängen offensichtlich eine falsche Richtung gewählt und fühlen uns behandelt wie "unerwünschte Eindringlinge".

A fabulous place in beautiful surroundings. Lovely staff, food and rooms superb. Full of charm and character. We had the tasting menu with wine flight in their Michelin starred restaurant. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. We’ll be coming back.

I came down to view the Manor House as a possible venue for my wedding and instantly fell in love with the magic that is The Manor House. We spent the night and had the most wonderful stay. Super comfy beds. Beautiful views. Amazing deep bath and lovely shower. TV in the bathroom so you can watch a film whilst relaxing in the bath with a glass of fizz. Nothing was too much of an ask for the staff. Really welcoming and has such a homely feel. We really can’t wait to come back and visit for our food tasting and then, our wedding!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Manor house, the staff are Welcoming and attentive making check-in, check-out and everything in between seamless. The grounds are immaculate and inviting, whether you feel like a round of golf or an afternoon stroll through the garden. My favourite feature in our Room was the shower with rainbar that, coupled with the Molton Brown, made for a very relaxing stay.

This Hotel lives up to it's reputation. Stunning room (Cottage with Twin Baths) - Room has everything you want - bath gowns, umbrellas and wellies! Rainfall shower, with side shower also Food is amazing - we ate at the Castle Inn (owned by Hotel) - I had the pork, with Red Mullet starter - a joyful experience Staff across the Hotel and pub were attentive, friendly and warm (unlike so many other places we've stayed, where you might be treated like a corporate number) This venue has a wonderful balance of professional & welcoming We keep going back as it's a wonderful relaxing couples break Highly recommended PS - if not in your room, as for the local walk guide
