Terrible experience eating here recently. We dined on a Tuesday evening, so not particularly a busy night such as a Friday or Saturday. Service was shocking. Staff were not attentive at all. It took ages for anyone to even come and take our order, and then food took around 45 minutes to come out. Everything was slow. When our drinks came, one was wrong and it then took about 10-15 minutes for the correct one to be bought to us. I ordered the beef burger, which was completely over cooked and inedible. We were given a dirty glass which had someone else’s lipstick on it.. disgusting. Won’t be returning here again.

Faultless service, lovely comfortable room in an idyllic location and delicious food. The staff were warm and welcoming and we enjoyed the breakfasts and an evening meal as well as sitting by the river with a cup of tea. The rooms were quaint with decent coffee machine and comfortable bed

We stayed 3 nights to celebrate a special birthday, but it was really disappointing. Our room was a lovely second floor room opposite the main pub building, but the whole experience just didn’t live up to expectations. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, but the waitress was very concerned that we chose to eat at the same time as other guests! They weren’t busy, so I’m not sure what this was, but she did seem very stressed! The meals were OK, but nothing. special and overpriced. At breakfast the next day, the waiter was just didn’t seem to know what to do, with the buffet not being replenished or dirty plates being removed from tables after guests had left. Back in the bedroom, the bathroom door made a real racket when being opened and closed and it was not tall enough to cover the door frame. We were woken at 5am on our first morning with bright light flooding down onto the bed from the skylight in the bathroom! For the other 2 nights we had to shove a towel in the gap at the top of the door to stop this. The sound insulation in the room was also non-existent as we could hear snoring from the room below on our first night which kept us awake. On our final night, a group of guests arrived quite late at about 12.30am and could not get into their rooms. Noisy quests are not the fault of the owners, but there were no lights at all outside so they could not see and despite them banging on the pub door for quite some time, it is clear there is no-one on-sight at all over night in case of situations like this. When the guests did eventually get in, they were talking for a good hour or so and we could hear everything! Paying the price we did for the rooms and only being able to sleep for 1 out of the 3 nights we stayed is just not on!

Lovely welcome. Great service from all the team. Went above and beyond at all levels. Really nice accommodation. Beautiful setting, very scenic. Breakfast was lovely. Complimentary flapjack really tasty. Nice change to have decent nespresso coffee.

Very attractive hostelry full of character. Very friendly and incredibly helpful staff, who went above and beyond to assist and we were made to feel very much at home. Wonderful breakfast, first class. Very comfortable rooms with good facilities, though just slightly tired. We would definitely stay again.

Dear Management, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the treatment my friends and I received at your establishment on May 8th. Despite our excitement to dine at White Hart, our experience was marred by unprofessionalism and disrespect from your staff. Upon arrival, we admittedly did not have a dinner reservation, which was our oversight. However, we initially intended to enjoy drinks before dining. Despite our polite inquiries about ordering drinks, we were met with eye rolls and dismissive behavior from your staff. We were directed to the bar in a manner that lacked any semblance of courtesy. Furthermore, when we inquired about the possibility of dining at your restaurant, we were abruptly told that it was not an option. This response was not only discourteous but also lacked professionalism. Despite the apparent lack of business, as evidenced by numerous empty tables, we were denied service without any valid explanation. Throughout our brief interaction with your staff, we felt unwelcome and unwanted. The recurring eye rolls and insistence for us to leave immediately further reinforced this sentiment. As paying customers, we expected to be treated with basic respect and courtesy, which were clearly absent during our visit. It is deeply concerning that such behavior is tolerated within your establishment. As patrons, we deserve to feel valued and appreciated, regardless of whether we have made a reservation. I sincerely hope that this feedback prompts a reassessment of your staff's conduct and a commitment to ensuring a more welcoming environment for all customers in the future

We waited 30 minutes to place our order then another 60 minutes for a meal to turn up. This was the wrong meal at the wrong time. Food was nice, expensive but nice. The general manager came and offered free puddings. But we would have been there over 2 and a half hours. We gave up. People were leaving because of the lack of service. Just don't go here. Save yourself

Our stay at the White Hart Pub & Rooms was a delightful experience overall. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious, providing a comfortable place to unwind after a long day of exploring the Cotswolds. The serene location, nestled in a quiet area, was exactly what we were hoping for, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the day. While we thoroughly enjoyed our room, one minor drawback was the lack of adequate lighting. It would have been beneficial to have brighter lighting options for reading, working or etc. Moving on to the restaurant, we found the atmosphere to be quiet and inviting. However, we did experience a slight delay in being seated and our server never seemed to be around, which made us wonder if they were understaffed. Despite this initial hiccup, we were impressed by the quality of the food. Although we only ordered appetizers, each dish was flavorful and satisfying.

Short visit but we really enjoyed, I chose this place as it is close to castle combe, you can walk if you are fiscally trained or by car which is less than 5 minutes, the breakfast was very nice, good portion and the whole place is beautiful, see pictures. I forgot an small necklace on my room and they were very nice to contact me. Hopefully I will receive it soon.
