Melia Cayo Coco - Adults Only

Beautiful resort. Not busy around the pool and beach. Great food and service. Enjoyed every day at the resort. A la carte restaurants are good. Drinks are good but there is a lack of liquors and juices are limited but if that is the only problem I can get past it

Just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel and it exceeded our expectations in every possible way. We upgraded to a premium lagoon view room with the help of Gippsy via email. Check in was a breeze and our room was upgraded and immaculately clean. The food was wonderful and fresh. The buffet has a good variety of choices and for dinner, there was also a theme nightly so not the same food night after night. We ate at all of the à la carte restaurants and enjoyed every one! The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of choices. Kitty and Jorge served us with a wonderful smile and warm hospitality every day. Charles makes the best omelettes, always served with a big smile! We generally ate lunch at the poolside snack bar and very much enjoyed the lovely Yanelis and Sady! I can’t forget to mention The Thirst Responder who makes the best cappuccinos and mojitos! Honestly the best vacation, every single staff member we encountered was warm, kind and could not do enough to help you make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Pool and beach were both fantastic, we appreciated that you don’t have to go out at the crack of dawn to reserve a lounger, they were plentiful at both the pool and beach all the time. Entertainment team was wonderful and we enjoyed cocktails and live music every evening at the lobby bar. It was our first time at Melia Cayo Coco but it will certainly not be our last. Thank you all for a wonderful vacation to remember!

We visited MCC the week of October 25th for our 3rd visit. We chose MCC for our vacation this time because we wanted to go to a place we could primarily just drop our bags and relax - and even with the shortages in Cuba, know that we would be okay… Mission accomplished. Thanks to Gippsy for a good room location near the main areas. We had a basic 2nd floor garden view room which is nothing fancy but lovely, spacious and clean. The bed and pillow were the most comfortable I have ever encountered in Cuba. Our room had a new fridge with a see through door that was nice. Everything worked as it should. The main doors could use some weather*****ping around them. I would consider bringing some of the foam stuff next time just to get them to seal a bit tighter. I’m sure something like that would be impossible to find in Cuba. The food was varied all week. You can definitely tell they are doing the best they can with what they can get each day. We always found something to eat. There were delicious cucumbers, pineapple and grapefruit a few days; olives every day. I liked the cold pasta salad, veggies, meats and cheeses. I must comment on the bread that was plentiful all week, and we often toasted it in the buffet. It was sooooo good that I asked where they brought it in from. I was told they make it on the resort. I want you to know that this bread is excellent - I actually miss it! They had amazing churros by the pool our first few days. The man who makes them is really sweet too. I will comment that in the evenings, both my husband and I though the fresh seafood/meat for grilling at the buffet never looked “fresh”. You could tell it had been sitting uncovered somewhere for too long - so we avoided it “just in case”. I would suggest they keep the cuts fresh, and covered, for dinnertime if at all possible. We had eggs all week at breakfast….and fries, burgers, pizza, sandwiches at the poolside grill. There was good sparkling wine all week. I saw red wine all week. There was lots of alcohol to choose from; however, mix seems to be the issue currently. The only pop (soda) we saw all week was cola… We improvised lol. The beer varied from Cristal, Buccanero and a Cuban beer in a plastic bottle. It was all nice and cold. We saw pina colada mix and mohitos some of days at least. The cappuccino and frozen coffee drinks were all delicious and plentiful. The staff were as great as ever. They work so hard and are so happy to please. They are currently working 16 hour days with one day on and one day off usually. By nighttime, you can tell they are tired out but still plug on with smiles. They are heroes. I pray conditions will improve for everyone in Cuba very soon. It is so tiring and discouraging for them, I know. The animation team is still so great. Chino, Maite, Chocolate Mama, Annie….love them all - they are great with the guests. The activities are good for young and old alike. Great to see Tamara, Yanelis and Jesus again in the

the structure is very nice and the stuff is extremely friendly always offering a kind smile and as much help as you could possibly need. you will definitely have a good time here. everything is included except from excursions outside the hotel so you can forget about you wallet for your stay (in the hotel cards work, but do bring cash, €/$/CAD$). the only thing that didn’t amaze me is the food, it is overall good but, as an italian, i recognize i can be very picky. also, in the hotel there is mainly Canadian guests, who are wonderful, polite and friendly people so you’ll meet a lot of new friends. come!

Another Great week at Melia Cayo Coco. Beach is amazing, staff excellant. Food was abundant and very good. Entertainment was very good. Special thanks to Gippsy, Jose Louis in fitness and Prince. Room and amenities were great. We can't wait to return

I have deleted my original post from November where I gave 3 stars due to the fact that as time has gone by since our return home both my husband and I really yearn to go back…this has never happened before! We both had such a wonderfully relaxing 2 weeks and despite my couple of grievances in my original post we are actively trying to rebook for next year. This is proving quite difficult as we are travelling from London . The beach is spectacular. Most of the staff are wonderful. The overall ambiance is so relaxing. I do hope if we do manage to return that the day time entertainment noise can be kept to a smaller area……we always found a beach area as far away as possible but with the microphones turned up so loud it did spoil the tranquility of the beach and could not be avoided. The percentage of guests taking part was minimal so on this I stand by my original review point that the noise was excessive and unnecessary. I appreciate that there are some people who want to participate but I feel that those who don’t should not have to listen to everything being played out over a far too noisy microphone. We stayed as far away from it on the beach but still couldn’t escape the noise . There were so many staff members who were brilliant….Uni in customer service,George at breakfast, Joel at the beach bar and restaurant and the lovely Manuel on the beach who was so incredibly helpful and informative. I am aware that the new manager is overseeing improvements throughout the resort. Yes it is a little dated but that somehow added to the charm of the resort. Everything is extremely clean and the beds are comfortable. We always slept well. We had a beachfront suite last year but currently I can only find garden rooms available. The Margaritas were amazing!

Spent a wonderful week at Melia Cayo Coco. The staff really make this place. Some of the blocks have been renovated, some haven't, but they are clean and well kept. The food is good, always plentiful. I especially enjoyed the papaya, so sweet. Omelets and pasta by Charles were amazing, crepes by Florencia, delicious. The weather wasn't great but you can't control that. It was still beautiful.
