Amaronda Resort & Spa Eretria

We have just returned from a week at the Amaronda and had an excellent time. The hotel is very modern, tastefully furnished and is extremely well maintained, both the inside and the gardens. Given that it was May it may have been quieter than at peak season but it never felt crowded, we were always able to get sunloungers by the pool, a table outside etc. The food was good over the course of the week and the a la carte restaurant is very good. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful. The wifi coverage is also good. A couple of other reviews make negative reference to it being a "French" hotel, while it is true that the vast majority of the guests are French and the entertainment is run by a French company, we never found this a problem. All the staff speak English. We would definitely return.

Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for looking after us during our one week AI stay. We found them all to be friendly, helpful and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. We are vegetarian and our special requests were catered for by the restaurant manager both at the main restaurant and the Al Carte by the beach. Plenty of salads and other foods. Food was labelled and the number of labels increased when I was not too sure if some salads had meat/ fish in them. The restaurant manager pointed them out to me and was friendly and helpful. The Hotel was tastefully furnished and clean. Bed was comfortable and so were the cushions. We used the free sauna and there is a small gym available for use. The grounds had orange and lemon trees and beautiful tropical flowers and swings. Places to visit nearby we asked the reception staff who helped us with bus timetables etc. The bus stop os just outside the hotel. We went to Athens, Eritreia and took a ferry across from Eritreia to Oropos, a beautiful greek town with tavernas, cafes etc. There was also a helpful, smiley guest relations lady who guided us on what to see in Athens and getting around. The entertainment board by the pool , unfortunately all the events were in French. An English translation would have been useful. As a result we missed out on a guided tour to Eritrea. However, we did catch up on the Greek Night on Friday evening where all joined in the dancing. All in all, staff are friendly and speak good English. Thank you.

Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The General Manager was extremely hands on, always made a point of checking on us. Food was always plentiful and the A la Carte on the beach was unforgettable, especially with the sunset. Fabulous

Gorgeous setting. Hotel interior is tastefully furnished. Staff is uniformly cordial and welcoming. But… Rooms inadequately furnished, as in no dressers and scant shelf space. Only six hangers provided for two people. The hot food in the buffet restaurant is perfectly horrid — flavourless, either mushy or overcooked, and inadequately labelled. (It isn’t enough to specify a dish’s Greek name without specifying its contents, I, for one, want to know if something contains meat.) We alerted reception to this oversight, to no avail. We’ve been enjoying all-inclusive holidays for 20 years, and only one place has had worse food. In fairness, the col salads and desserts are often delicious, but we were dismayed by the absence of cough guards above the food, and by the desserts being arrayed low enough to allow unsupervised kiddies to handle them. (We pointed this to out to management, which didn’t act on our complaint,) The a la carte restaurant down by the beach, I will no neglect to mention, is marvellous,

The bungalow we booked was recently refurbished with a nice shared pool. The property had great gardens and pool area. The beach bar and the sandy beach of the property were also great. What we felt could be improved is certainly the food as the quality was low. Moreover, a coffee machine in the superior bungalow is a service that should be added.

Great food, good quality hotel but... all inclusive exist only in 50%. Hotel offer extra pay food and drinks on both bars even if you already bought "all inclusive" option with your travel agency. This causes situations when you need to wait long time, every time if you want order any drink/soda etc., sometimes even 5-7 minutes despite that you are only person in line. Bartenders are rude and treat you like crap. This was really annoying that service on such hotel was so so bad. All bartenders with such attitude should be fired immediately (especially guys on Beach Bar - extremally rude). Hotel mostly for families - lot of children everywhere. Rooms shoudl be soundproofed cause you can hear all noises from corridor and lobby. Another annoying thing is both standards for french and other tourists - french tourists receive special treatment on every place. Hotel segregates guests with different all inclusive bands - firts hotel which do such things...

Sensational hotel - clean, modern, elegant. Excellent food - varied, prepared by enthusiasts of good meals (not only Greek), satisfying even the most demanding culinary tastes. Desserts are at the level of the best pasteries. Big pool and clean beach with a dedicated bar. The "all inclusive" option includes a few drinks, water, juices, cola. We didn't use the snacks between meals, because I had the impression that we were eating too much. Very nice service! And finally, creme de la creme - a brilliant singer and pianist Roula, whose recitals made us happy every evening. She is the soul of this place!

We spent a very nice week. The kids had a great time with the entertainment team either for young kids or teenagers. The choice of activities proposed during the day was diverse enough when we did not go on a tour. The team of the spa is great, very professional and smiling. I can't wait to come back when the hammam will be built. The only problem is the organization of the restaurant when there are a lot of customers. There could be a schedule to avoid the long line and reduce the noise inside.

We had an amazing stay! The people working, the hospitality, the food..everything was great! Loved how it made us feel like home! Must visit for a quite, family vacation as it is kids friendly and super safe.
