Take in the morning with coffee while sitting on rockers on the expansive covered front porch. Admire the sunset over the trees around the 2ac yard. The house is in Cheriton, just on the other side of the highway from Cape Charles. This gives your stay a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere while still being a short jaunt to the beach and restaurants. This is a primary residence where the owner is away for part of the summer. The three bedrooms are on the second floor. The beds are made with down pillows. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit so you can tailor your temperature to your preferences. This property isn't fit to rent until improvements are made in the bathrooms and kitchen. They need completely gutted and made safe. There is also severely outdated food in the kitchen (some over 10 years old). A horrible old, wet, musty smell is throughout the house and greets you when you walk in. There is a lot potential in the property and we loved the closeness to everything! There was lots of space, but it needs a significant amount of work to get it to a safe, cozy, and functional condition. We understand it is an old house, which we love, but it can't have squishy bathroom floors and questions of "who knows what" rotting and growing underneath the vynl. Also the mismatch of used furniture isn't charming and there isn't a single thing on the walls. It was a dissapointment to what the pictures show.
