ソンダー マーケット ホール(Sonder Market Hall)

No matter how much you love Sonder (and I do), their “Market Hall” property in the West Loop is a terrible choice for a weekend stay due to the awful noise of the nightclub that sits on the first floor and literally shakes the floors and walls with pounding music from 9 pm to 2 am from Thursday thru Saturday nights. And Sonder actually WARNS you about this in the (fine print) listing, if you bother to read all the way to the very end of the online profile for Market Hall rooms. Stay away. I missed the warning, booked Thursday-Sunday and the first night was so awful that we had to leave at 6 am and find another building. What is outrageous to me is that Sonder even offers the rooms for Thur＞Saturday, knowing full well that the noise level is unbearable. That is malpractice. Their profile says “white noise machine and earplugs available…”. Otherwise, Sonder units elsewhere in Chicago are great. Just NOT Market Hall.

Everything was good, except for the parking situation. If Sonders can get an agreement with some business around the building, that would be great. We kinda felt trapped in the studio, as we did not want to go out for dinner in fear of losing our spot.

Great space. Perfect to the United Center and quick walk to West Loop. Free coffee and nice kitchen. But the room is laid out poorly. The TV is perpendicular to your head on the pillow. Just reorient the bed! The big problem was the nightclub below my room. Thumping music rattled and echoed in the room until I finally passed out after 1am. Not sure when the music finally stopped. That was pretty annoying.

Overall good stay. Only complaints would be the room was a little dirty with scuff marks on the walls and the nightclub below. At night the noise was a little too much from the music and bass.

Short walk to United Center. Good food close by. Found street parking easily on Thursday afternoon by the park. Space was big, beautiful & comfortable - like big city living. Easy code entry. Would come back if seeing another show in the neighborhood.

Our Room/Apt was amazing! The place was clean and well stocked. Very spacious and very quiet. All communication is done through their app and it is very user friendly. Response is very quick if you have any complaints or needs. Will definitely stay there again.

The property has a wonderful layout updated appliance great view. I highly recommend Sonders for all visitors

The biggest problem - noises from the club and neighbors. Was heard every step, toilet flushing, cough, conversation of neighbors from next room. The club noise on Friday-Saturday was terrible till 2am

This could be a nice property but the night club in the building ruins it. Sonder was very helpful moving us to another floor. Literally our furniture was shaking. Get rid of the night club and this will be a great property. Sonder representatives were professional. If your room is on the second or third floor- the music goes until 2:30 am. The sound machines and ear plugs will not cover up the vibration.
