Nestled in the magnificent Green Mountain National forest region of Vermont....this resort is top notch. We had the privilege of staying in the Fox Hollow guest house that is situated next door to the Mountain Top Resort. This resort books all guest houses and makes it easy to have the best of both worlds. This gives you the opportunity to have your own private yard, kitchen, living room, etc. but also access to the resort amenities. We loved our guest house so much that we really didn't need to go to the resort for meals. We picked up some groceries and cooked up breakfast and then ate lunch and dinner out. This resort location gave us the ability to travel to Stowe for the day and also stop in Manchester for lunch on our way home. The guest house was beautiful with the best view of the mountains and reservoir. I loved watching the mountains change color during the different times of day. The view never gets old and every room had a window(s) to capture the beauty no matter where you stood. There was a patio and grill for guest use. The kitchen was amply set up for cooking (if you felt the need to). I highly recommend this resort to recharge your battery and relax. It must be equally beautiful no matter what season you stay here.

I visited with my daughter on August 19, 2024 for dinner. I have NEVER experienced such terrible service nor have I witnessed such rude treatment of other customers as I did at this resort. We sat at our table for 15 minutes and not one person approached us, yet there were servers standing around, yawning. Also there were only 5 other customers in the restaurant at the time. The gentleman next to us stopped a server and asked very politely when his food would be out (he had been waiting 35 minutes) and the server responded by saying" it will be out when it comes out" in a very nasty tone. Needless to say, we got up and left. We drove from Pennsylvania to visit Vermont and planned our day around this dinner. I would absolutely never recommend this establishment to anyone. You should be ashamed! BTW - I only gave one star because I had to.

They never tell you: 22 rooms for all your guests. the majority of our wedding stayed at different hotel. you spend all this time picking appetizers and then they serve you some of the choices. 2 bar tenders for 180 people at cocktail hour. Charged my credit card for 2 lodges which were empty and we begged for rooms!!! father of the bride

The guest house and amenities were average we were there for a wedding and that was beautifully done overall a pleasant experience. My complaint was a safety issue as the smoke detector had been removed from the house and the light to the deck/entrance was burned out.it was extremely cold and slipping and falling in the dark was quite possible. I had reported it to the front desk on Friday when we arrived and was assured it would be taken care of. It was not as of Sunday when we left.

I spent 5 days at the resort, often described as ‘rustic’ but in reality luxurious ! A real gem hidden in the Vermont mountains. The Inn has fabulous dining, being vegetarian that is extremely important . The cuisine did not disappoint ! Many choices, indoor or outdoor dining, or a tavern experience with craft beer ! A+ experience ! Heard my first ever loon one early a.m., and saw her and babies while on a boat ride, on Chittenden Reservoir, later that day ! A birder’s dream !

My daughter, mother, and myself stayed here for a week. It was a delightful escape from the summer feet of our home state. We went horseback riding, Claybird shooting, hiking and boating. The guides at all these activities were very helpful and obviously love their jobs. Our room at the inn was spacious, tastefully remodeled and very clean. The food was excellent and the beds were comfortable. They even kept the bar open a little bit late so we could have a drink after we arrived in the late evening. The view from our third floor room was breathtaking. We would highly recommend this resort for a summer vacation.
