Wingate by Wyndham Christiansburg

Hotel was understaffed. Room was dirty not cleaned our whole stay. Had to hunt down staff who preferred to be outside smoking and hanging with friends. Was offered bath mats in lieu of towels as they were out. Hard to believe as I paid $750 for weekend, which itself was overpriced. Breakfast ****** out of coffee in hour in and juice machine was broken. One maid I saw was unprofessional in dress and attitude. Wouldn’t let my dogs stay here. Heard traffic noise and slamming doors most of night.

It's a nice place to stay if you want quick access to I-81 and Virginia Tech University is only 15 minutes away.

Our room was not clean at all. Upon entering the room, we first noticed that the beds looks like someone just rolled around in them. There were flower seeds and dead stink bugs on the floor. There were live stink bugs too. Dead stink bugs were in there or shower and on the window sill. I went into the bathroom and there was light pink substance all over the sink. Also, my daughter went to shower and there was a used wash cloth (picture attached) Also, I went to put drinks into the refrigerator and there were 6 left over beers and the inside looked like a coke exploded. It was completely gross. I took the beer to a housekeeper and she stated “she must’ve missed them while cleaning”! We were so afraid of all the bugs that we actually slept on top of the blankets. So much was wrong when the this hotel from the moment we entered. The lady at the front desk didn’t even ask me for ID.

The elevators were filthy and stunk. The hallways were torn up and never cleaned. We walked past a chip in the hall for three days. There was no trash can in the bathroom. Just very run down and not maintained. Staff was nice enough though

We booked a suite and the layout was fine. It is in a great location relative to the highway. The issue was the cleanliness. Strong odor in the elevators. Carpet in the room itself needed to be cleaned.

Our stay was average. Breakfast was average. They are in the process of remodeling. Only one of the two elevators was working and it smelled bad. The hallway leading to our room also smelled odd/bad but the room was clean, comfortable and nice. (No smell in the room). The indoor pool which our children were looking forward to was ice cold. It was either not heated or the heater was broken.

Check in staff was not friendly at all. Never spoke a word more than asking what my name is and telling me my room number. Hotel needs cleaned.

Arrived at this property and checked in, was told since I paid through Orbitz there would be no charge. A couple minutes later she said she needed my card on file for incidentals, by the time I made it upstairs to my dirty room, my card had been charged for a nights stay. Upon entering the room, we found dirty sheets/blankets, hairs in the bed and bathroom shower and floor, the bed skirts and comforters were so dirty you could tell they had not been washed in months. There was liquid dripping off the walls behind the toilet that had not been cleaned throughly either. The floors were covered in crumbs and hair, I can’t imagine it had been vacuumed. The lady working the front desk offered to move us to another room, while standing in line a guest behind me said not to move to that room either and proceeded to show me picture of the cleanliness of the room she was attempting to move us to. As of now there has been no resolve on the issue. Absolutely disgusting!

The fridge in my room was nasty, lost all my refrigerated food because front desk said there was no maintenance or housekeeping on duty and nothing she could do. Front desk staff couldnt get off her personal cell phone call to get me checked in, which i called 2 hours prior to confirm everything was correct..was told "yes its all correct". My room was closee to the side entrance/exit. Was told it worked, went to come back on that door, the handle was missing. I went to the same front desk person to let her know the handle was missing..."Oh yeah, someone ripped it off a while back, we just aint fixed it yet. The shower was dirty.
