The hotel in right in the middle of town. Although it's a little 'old style' our room was nicely renovated and warm and comfy and there are further renovations in progress. The staff were welcoming and helpful. One feature I thought was great is that the hotel has a guest kitchen where you could get plates and cutlery or wine glasses or cook a meal. And the cafe is fantastic.
This was our second stay, and hopefully not our last. Staff were friendly and very helpful, allowing us an early check-in. We had a one-bedroom upstairs unit (sleeps four), comfy couch, lovely sunny deck, washing machine and dryer, spa bath, great kitchen, full size frig/freezer, stove, dishwasher, allocated parking spot and very handy to town (3 minute walk). Everything in excellent condition. Close to heaps of restaurants, food-trucks, and supermarket.
Whilst this is called Wanaka lake view, we were very disappointed to find our room was tucked away at the back with two narrow windows looking out onto a hedge close to them. It was very dark in the room and actually tricky to even know what the weather was doing outside! It appears that it is only room at the motel that is unfortunate in its position. The others all have big windows and more spacious. It’s easy to book as we did thinking we were in one of the front facing apartments. Unclear on website. The accommodation it’s self was sufficient ( though a tiny bathroom sink to wash any kitchen things in ) Staff were friendly and helpful. Location of actual motel was perfect. But being so near the beautiful lake and yet stuck into a very dark room was very frustrating. No where to sit outside the room either. I’m sure it’s cheaper than the other rooms, but really many more motels with 2 bed rooms with a much more pleasant outlook. Wish I’d read the reviews about the studio room before hand as others warn of finding the same problem. Wanaka itself very beautiful and the whole area well worth. Visit.
ゲゲストI last reviewed this resort in March 2020, and we still love it as we like to spend a week in Wanaka each year. Unfortunately, the wifi is still as poor as it was back then despite a reply from JacobW stating that it was being sorted. It should not be necessary to stand in the corner of the lounge to get a decent reception. Anywhere else in the unit is very hit-and-miss! This time the pain was enhanced by virtue of the fact that we could only get Aljazeera on two of the TVs. The 're-tune option was unavailable, so it must be centrally controlled. These two things alone spoil the whole experience of what should be a top-notch resort!

ゲゲストA quick unplanned stay over- which was fine. The positives are our room was clean, had an outside space, car parking, nice reception staff. Close to the shops and lakes. A short walk. Comfy bed. The kitchen and bathroom are dated and need a bit of TLC. If the rooms had this, they could charge more! They all function and there is a basic kitchenette.
