ホテル アルキミスタ モンテビデオ(Alquimista Montevideo)

We spent two nights in Alquimiste and we never wanted to leave! The guesthouse which is almost 100 years old is full of antique furniture, original artwork, and even has a lookout tower on the 4th floor boasting 360 views of the Carrasco neighborhood. It is a 2 minute walk from the beach and very close to some of Montevideo’s most famous restaurants. Carolina and Mark are delightful and happy to help with anything. The restaurant is lovely, and the breakfasts is a real treat. Hot croissants, freshly baked scones with marmalade and cream cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, and beautifully plated granola we’re just some of our favorites. Staying at Alquimiste, you really feel like you are apart of something special!

I spent a week at Alquimista Montevideo and it was a very relaxing, restorative experience. It's a beautiful space, clearly decorated and maintained with care. I enjoyed leisurely breakfasts with big pots of tea in the cozy dining area and while it rained a bit while I was there, I did manage to get out into the lovely garden a couple times. Carolina and Mark were great hosts and the whole team was very friendly and professional. I would absolutely recommend Alquimista Montevideo to anyone looking for a special place to stay while in Uruguay.

We only stayed one night with Carolina & Mark as we wanted to be closer to the airport for an early flight but also still experience the city. Carrasco is a lovely neighborhood and the house is beautifully restored/maintained. Carolina went above and beyond and left us breakfast so we'd have something before the flight and loaned us a guide book about our next stop! They were both so welcoming and helpful and we wish we had staying another couple nights and gotten to try the restaurant as well. Hopefully there's a next time!

Beautiful house, huge room and bathroom ,new sheets, gardens, amazing breakfast, walking to La rambla and restaurants . Amazing place to stay !

This B&B exceeded our expectations. Well appointed, beautiful garden where one could have breakfast and lounge. Personal touches everywhere. The highlight are the owners who are very welcoming, warm, helpful and generous. Everything was super clean. We stayed in the ALQUIMISTA Room. Very comfortable bed. High quality bed sheets, towels. Nice shower. We will happily stay there again when we come to Montevideo.

We thoroughly enjoyed the service and friendliness provided by the owners. It was a pleasure to stay there and we would highly recommend this very pleasant small hotel which is located in a very nice neighborhood.

We stayed in the hotel and were hugely impressed. The couple who run the hotel were charming and very helpful (they each speak perfect Spanish and English). The hotel was of a very high standard - there were lovely original features mixed with more modern touches. The food at lunch and at breakfast was delicious.

Charming and cozy hotel and Restaurant. Excellent and very private service. Great location at Carrasco neighborhood, two blocks away from ramblas and river beach. Lots of very good references for wineries visits nearby. We highly recommend. Lúcio and Daniela, Curitiba, Brazil
