ウガ レジデンス(Uga Residence)

The staff and facilities here were excellent and the food was superb. The Uga Residence is well placed in Colombo with for many of the main attractions. We were made to feel very welcome and well looked after. We would happily stay there again. Full marks!

I proposed to my fiancée at Uga Residence. Chelvam (Restaurant Manager) was going out of his way to make my special day a great success. He did an amazing job with the decorations and it was truly breathtaking. Food was just delicious. My fiancée and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chelvam and his waitering team for giving detailed attention to us. Thank you Uga Residence !

Went to dine at Rare; needed to say that the food and the plating was nice but the service didn’t match the standards, ordered a raw mango juice and it had a off taste and I feel it was not made from fresh mango. The server who served payed attention to the opposite table to us in asking if the drinks were okay but didn’t see nor had interest to inquire if my drink which was not consumed even at the moment he cleared the juice. Kind of disappointing given the brand that Uga carries. The service by Ian I guess from concierge was exceptional and of true hospitality and attention to detail.

5/5. Quaint boutique hotel with only 12 suites. Rooms were comfortable and large, staff was attentive and inviting. Restaurant dishes truly elevated, delicious and gourmet in preparation. Located conveniently for sightseeing and we felt quite safe on our evening stroll

Truly an oasis of calm with lots to do on your doorstep. Rooms are magnificent with comfy bed, nice lounge area and a luxurious bathroom. There is a lovely pool for a cool off. Staff are friendly and helpful and the manager makes a point of talking to each guest. The breakfast was delicious. I can’t think of a better base to explore Colombo from.

A sanctuary in the heart of Colombo with an exceptional restaurant where Chef Manjula creates exquisite Sri Lankan and European cuisine and the staff are generous and considerate. It was a delight to be there and hard to leave.

From the moment I stepped into Uga Residence in Colombo, it felt like I had entered a realm of tranquility and warmth. This was my first stop upon arriving in Sri Lanka, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this beautiful country. The welcome I received was nothing short of wonderful, setting a tone of hospitality that lasted throughout my stay. The staff at Uga Residence are the epitome of charm and kindness. Each person I encountered was dedicated to making my stay comfortable and memorable. Their attention to detail and genuine care made me feel like royalty. Every meal was a delightful experience, a touch of gourmet fitness, the presentation was always impeccable. The ambiance of Uga Residence is a perfect blend of elegance and serenity. It’s a quiet place that radiates charm, making it an ideal spot to unwind and rejuvenate. The surroundings invite you to relax and soak in the peaceful vibes.

Absolutely gorgeous suites in the heart of Park St. Surrounded by malls, hotels and beaches, Uga Residence is absolute luxury in the midst of the city. Unfortunately the food and service don't live up to the ambience. Front office and F&B service was very disappointing, especially after having encountered so much pampering in all the other hotels and villas we stayed at during this trip (Mirissa, Nuwara Eliya and Tangalle). While the hotel has so much history, one would expect premium butler service to go with it but it was quite the opposite. To add to it the food was very ordinary, both in terms of taste and presentation. Not to forget a very limited menu. A couple of odd things that happened during our stay - loud music came on by itself around 1am from the stereo in the room. Not sure if the previous guest had set an alarm for this or it was 1 of the staff. Took us a while to realize what was happening since we were fast asleep. What was even more odd, the key card that was inserted into the wall holder was slightly pulled out around 6.30am leading to the power going off in our room. Again, it took us an hour to realize it wasn't a power cut and the key had been slightly pulled out. Still not sure how this happened given that it's made of steel and it was fine through the night. Overall, a lovely place to stay but can do way better to justify the amount being charged.

I am a big fan of unique and experience stays. Scrolled through many properties until I stumbled upon Uga. It’s located at the prime location with GangaRamaya temple less than a km away. There are several other restaurants located on Park Street which makes it very convenient for people to step out but trust me if you have the food at Rare in Uga you will go nowhere else. The food is simply brilliant and unique. You must definitely try the Almond croissant which was my fav, then the Kochi Devilled chicken, apple pie, Pol Roti, Baked crab, Lobster soup.. Oh the list can go on… The rooms were impeccably clean and big. The property itself is so well maintained! Speaking of the staff, I haven’t seen such warm people.. Always ready to help and with a smile. Made us feel so welcomed and part of their family. Special mention to Thilo who helped with our checkin and nearby accommodations, Sithija and Shiraz who helped us with local transport and good discount, Hasitha who is always there to welcome us with a big smile, Sachini who took care of me so well when I fell ill due to the climate, Malith who had a brief conversation with my husband about his fav local drink in Sri Lanka and who went out of his way to speak to Dilin the hotel manager and got the drink as a surprise for my husband, Shan and Shamal ensured we ordered the right food and Tharindu who is a man of few words but always smiling…. Can’t thank them enough for the wonderful hospitality they provided us. Definitely a stay we would frequent as we are so grateful for the stay we had at Uga!
